I always hear about upgrading the fuel pump when running a 100 shot. I have a NX wet kit. I live in utah and we are at 4,400 ft. elevation. So I figure because of the high elevation I am making less power then I would at see level. I am taking in less air which would also mean I am using less fuel. So If I run a 100 wet shot is it still required to upgrade the fuel system. Because my car makes less HP NA and uses less fuel NA I thought I would have more fuel to use with the nitrous. What do you guys think? Does this make since or is it BS?

Can you do it?? Probably.
Is it safer to install a bigger pump, sure.

But would you agree that at higher elevation I may be able to run a higher shot than you guys at sea level? Or is this not the case?

High elevation or low elevation you run a 100 shot either way. The jets let the same amount of fuel and n2o at either elvation. So if you up the shot you are just going to put your engine through more drama. I've been through 2 bottles running a NX 100 wet shot on the stock fuel system. I haven't had any problems with the car going lean. There has always been plenty of fuel available and most of my tuning problems with the cam have been trying to get my O2 readings down from the .99 range.
I now have an inline fuel pump and a FMU for more fuel. IMHO it wouldn't hurt to have a 2nd pump but the stock one seems to do fine.Michael Huff
92 RS, 98 V6, 97 SS, 00 Z28
http://www.carolinafbodyclub.com/

You guys are avoiding my initial quesiton. You say hell no!! but you have no reason to back that up. I am simply saying that in utah at the elevation we have 4,400 ft. We make less power than a v6 would at see level. So because we make less power there would be less stress on the engine and less air and fuel being used. Do you agree?

you're 1/4 time may be lower cuz of less air resistance, if that's what you mean. it will be easier to make a 100 shot work cuz you already have less air/fuel going into your engine since the air is thinner and the computer wants a nice 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio. I would still run w/ a adj. fpr, just for tuning purposes. a larger fuel pump is good if you are planning to mod your car some more, just to be safe w/ future mods, but it is not needed.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj.
