I dont get it i re located my fogger after the MAF and i hit it in 2nd gear to test it out and it went fine for like 6 sec and then backfire. I went home and took off my intake all the way up to the TB and i see a lil puddle of fuel sittin on the edge of my TB. Also where my filter is there is liek the resin of fuel and u wipe ur finger on it, it is fuel. I dont get what it could be. Any ideas?

its a wet kit, we just tested the solenoid to see if they were firing at same time and they were. So is there somthing else that could set off a backfire? Im just about ot give up on nitrous if i cant figure this out, ive been trying for 2-3 weeks now.Past Ride

I've been speaking to him back and forth.
He has a wet kit
Initially he had the nozzles before the maf but now he put it after which is what he needs.
So do you still have the resistor in there?
Is it mounted into the intake tubing.
I'm getting a bit frustrated, I want you to juice it and have a good running car. If you don't mind I'm going to ask a series of questions and just fire away with answers according to question number.
1) OK, first what safety things do you have?
2) What rpm do you hit it at and what gear?
3) We know you have a wet kit, how much are you shooting.
4) exactly where is the nozzle located?
5) Did you remove the resistor?
6) did you put the iat back into intake tubing?
7) how does it run at idle?
8) what plugs and gapping do you have?
9) where are you supplying the fuel from?
10) bottle psi when you juice it?
11) give me a list of every single mod you have
12) what is your fuel economy now?
13) gears/ auto or manual?
14) where are the nozzles spraying?
15) maybe the maf is damaged from juicing before the maf w/ a wet kit?
Don't take the questions the wrong way. I am trying to figure out what is going on.
Please answer the questions when you get a chance according to the numbers to make it easierRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

1) WOT switch, arm switch, and push button
2)I hit when i hook which is at the 60ft(1st gear)
3)75 shot
4)in the TB bout in the middle after MAF
5)no, havent bought peice to put back in my intake
6)no, same as #5
7)idles at 6-700
8) replaced plugs today whith Champion copper plus's gapped at 35
9)??i run 93 octane if thats what u mean??
10)900-1100
11)homemade intake, 3 inch catback, ST 3500 stall nitrous converter, aluminum driveshaft,RK Sport headers
12)i get about 270 on a full tank (converter takes about 2MPG)
13) 3.42's and its a A4
14)
15)replaced MAF sensor, it was broke when i had the first backfire.
jet sizes are NOS Fuel #28 and Nitrous is #46
I do have a miss, i hear it in my exhaust, ill be at WOT or sumtimes not at WOT and ill hear a lil spudder every once in a while, like i said i changed plugs today and still does it. Wires or coil pack????? It is getting enuff fuel and nitrous. I think when it misses it sets off a backfire. My dad has been around nitrous for 25 years and he thinks the miss is setting off these backfires. But we could be wrong but it does have a lil miss somewhere. Would misses actually set a backfire??

1) ok good but no fpss?
Why not? that is the first safety thing you should put on
2) ok
3) ok, not too much of a shot
4) but it is mounted after the maf right?
5) remove the resistor!!!!
6) buy that piece I've been telling you, then poke a hole into your intake tube, stuff the rubber grommet in there and then plug the iat sensor in
7) ok, but does it idle smooth?
8) ngk tr6's gapped at .035 Do not use copper plugs, are they 2 ranges colder than stock?
Trust me, ngk tr6's all the way
9) no, waht I mean is did you get the fuel for the y fitting from the fuel rail? or a line from the tank or what?
10) bottle psi is fine
11), when you say home made, explain it please
12) is that around town or on highway or combo? I would prefer to know highway fuel economy
13) oh ok
14) you made sure they are spraying straight into the throttle body right?
15) ok so that is replaced
OK you said it, you have a miss n/a, then do not juice it again until you fix the miss!!!!
Check the coil packs
Remove each spark plug wire, run your hand down it completely and look for burns from the headers
OK your dad has been doing this for 25 years, then why is he letting you juice it when you have a miss n/a???
If you have a problm n/a then nitrous will only magnify it.
DO NOT HIT THE NITROUS AGAIN UNTIL YOU HAVE SOLVED THE MISS
Please do not take any of this the wrong way at all.
I am only stressing the importance of tuning.
OK, here is your list of things to do:
A) Remove the bottle from the car so you are not tempted to juice it
B) Get stock plugs and gap them at 0.060
C) Please take care of the iat set up first!!!!!
The engine needs to know the air intake temperature. Get rid of the resistor. Buy the rubber grommet and the plug that inserts into the rubber grommet, then plug the wire into the iat and make a hole in your home made intake and get that first
D) Check the spark plug wires like I said
E) If for some reason you still have problems then maybe coil packs
This is why people blow engines.
I am not picking on you, I am just being honest.
You never skip with tuning n/a on a nitrous car!!!!
I would not lie to you.
Take this advice, I only want to see the car run right
Post a reply when you get a chance to my new questions, thanksRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

12) 260-270 round town, never gone much on highway to figure it out
14) yes it is
My dad let me spray becuase we thought the MAF was the only problem, we later went out to test it and heard the miss and did not spray sincePast Ride

OK good.
Please don't take my above responses the wrong way, I only want to help
Check the following:
OK, here is your list of things to do:
A) Remove the bottle from the car so you are not tempted to juice it
B) Get stock plugs and gap them at 0.060
C) Please take care of the iat set up first!!!!!
The engine needs to know the air intake temperature. Get rid of the resistor. Buy the rubber grommet and the plug that inserts into the rubber grommet, then plug the wire into the iat and make a hole in your home made intake and get that first
D) Check the spark plug wires like I said
E) If for some reason you still have problems then maybe coil packs
Then post the results when you get a chance.
Once that is done then we can get you juicing again :DRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

I did notice carbon trackings on a couple of my wires from laying over my manifold which causes arch which might be causing the miss. What you think James?Past Ride
