  • Got my MSD window switch back

My switch came back to me on Friday. It was modified to a two cylinder, but they didn't charge me for it!!! The invoice has a $35 charge on it, but it also has "Yes" marked under "Wty?". I installed it yesterday but haven't had a chance to test it out since my bottle is almost totally empty and everyone was out of nitrous. I'll update as soon as I get some juice to test it with.

Good Luck! I never got mine working even after I had it converted by MSD. Of course my car is a 1999 and the "drive-by-wire" screws everything up...

A window switch provides a ground between certain RPMs. This is ideal for nitrous users to they can connect it to the nitrous solenoids and set it to turn on at 3000 rpms (the minimum safe RPM for spraying nitrous, as recommended by NOS) and turn off at a suitable rpm before the vehicle's rev limiter hits. This is important because when the rev limiter hits it cuts the fuel. Nitrous + no fuel = bye-bye engine. I have mine set on at 3000 and off at 5800 since my rev limiter kinda "fades" in at about 5900.

Here is a link for MSD's window switch:

You can buy them from most local performance parts stores, or you can get them online from performance stores like Summit or Jegs or any other online store that sells MSD parts. The cost from Summit is $76.95. You'll also need the "RPM Pills" which are plugin modules that are set for certain RPMs. They are sold in packs of 5, usually in a range of 800rpm in 200rpm steps (for example, and even pack of 5000 series would contain 5000, 5200, 5400, 5600, & 5800). Each pack of 5 costs about $20.
