• Questions about ZEX kit install

I recently acquired a ZEX nitrous kit, a dry setup and I was browsing through the install manual. Two directions have me a litle stumped:

1. It says to place the nitrous nozzle behind the MAF sensor. Now isn't that sensor right at the begining of the throttle body? Is there some way around this or do I just stick the nozzle in my air intake like normal and forget about this?

2. It wants the nitrous control module to connect to an un-used vacuum line coming out of the intake manifold plenum(spelling?) where is that? this vacuum line is separate from the fuel reg vacuum line.

I don't think this kit is made specificly for our cars so I'm not quite sure on what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had the Zex kit. Throw out othe instructions. They are useless. The kit uses the same method of adding fuel as the NOS kit.

***DO NOT put the nitrous nozzle behind the MAF.

I don't know why it is stated that way, but what you need to do is put it in front of the MAF so the car adds fuel. I had mine in the plastic of my whisper lid between the actual lid and the metal of the MAF. Just drill a hole in the plastic, mount the little metal piece in there and screw in the nozzle. Make sure it faces the MAF.

As for the vacuum lines:

I had to buy longer lines than the ones that came with the kit because of space issues. You can buy fuel hose to use for this at most hardware stores. Try to get the same size diameter as the original ones from the kit. If you reach your hand behind the intake manifold ( DONT DO IT WHILE THE ENGINE IS HOT ) you can feel a little plastic tube. It feels like a stiff wire. Follow it towards the driver side and you will feel the FPR on th fuel rail. Unplug the plastic tube from the FPR and put one of the Zex lines there. On the passenger side of the plastic tube, you will hit the place where it attaches to the intake manifold. Unplug it from there and run the other Zex vacuum line to it. ( I had to use some zip ties pulled REALLY tight with pliers to help hold these lines on. They can come off pretty easy. ) The piece you just took out should look like a platic 'U' of sorts. Now all you have to do is hook the two vacuum lines to the right places on the Zex 'magic box'. Thats it. I had my box mounted behind the battery on the dip in the strut tower.

If you need anymore help, just ask me.

OK, so basicially the zex box splices in between the vacuum lines. The vacuum line goes from the reg to the fuel rail, right? The one from the reg goes to the box and the one from the fuel rail goes to the box. Correct? The vacuum line is the only place I'm iffy on, the rest seems like a piece of cake.

Thanks for the help!

Yes the dry kit is mounted before the maf (or the throttle body).
As for the vaccum set up, he is correct

If you have any other questions, just ask.
BTW: I could never get the WOT switch thats inside the box to work. it wouldnt activate so I just put it to 12v and used a push button.
