  • Please tell me the difference between mechanical and electrical nitrous gauges and...

I would like to know which are better to use , mechanical or electrical? Please tell me why you think the one is better than the otherand which is the most feasible to go with, i want to send the money in on a mechanical nitrous gauge because its a good deal but i wanna know if mechanicalis as good as electrical please help all opinions are appreciated

i think the mechanical guages are the ones that are directly on the line. and the electrical ones have a sending unit that sends the pressure to a guage by wire.

Mine are all electrical in my firebird
      Air/fuel ratio
      Tranny temp
      Fuel pressure
      Differences?
Well, one is electrical, which would have some kind of sender unit.
An electrical fuel guage has a wire from the guage to the sender unit which is screwed into the fuel line somewhere. A mechanical fuel guage has a line from the back of the guage to a diaphram right onto the fuel line. This line enters the passenger compartment. It is typcially filled with anti-freeze. What would happen if that antifreeze leaked out? Fuel into the passenger compartment.
In my chevelle however it is a bit different.
I have a mechanical oil psi guage. I have a line with a compression fitting to the back of the guage to read the psi.
My coolant temp guage is, hmmmmmm, I honestly don't remember. It might be mechanical.
      Which is better, dunno.
      Which works better for you?
