• NITROUS PISTONS

I think it would be really cool to build up a NItrous motor. I was looking at 3800performance.com and they sale some 9.5:1 CR Forged Piston. I was thinking this would be a good nitrous piston because it is forged and the slight raise in compression. Maybe complimented with some GTP connecting rods because they are forged. Would this work? What kind of NITROUS levels do you think could be used with this setup. I also have SSM heads P&P intakes and a Comp Cam. I think this would be a good nitrous motor. What else would I need?

Well, my plan is for a dual stage 200 hp shot.
When forged pistons go in compression ratio will be lowered.
I think 9.1 or 9.0 to 1
Stock is 9.4 to one I think.
Crank should be forged, I'm working on that, very expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Minimum hardened but might as well forge it.
Forged connecting rods, why? Cause I already split one in half and shattered it :D
A better valve is a good idea.
That is my rough plan

So why lower compression? I thought nitrous likes higher compression? Sense I wont be driving my car in the winter buying an extra block and building it up for next year would be a good project.

Modified crank? How much?

nitrous does like higher compression but then you have to worry about predetonation last i heard a new forged crank was around the tune of 3k i am not sure what you can get done to your stock crank what options do we have to get done to our stock crank to strengthen it james?

To use those pistons you must use the L67 rods.

Hey James tell me your idea of a dual stage 200, like 50 off the line and 150 up top or what?

Prevent detonation cause that is bad.
Modified crank, possibly $3000 for a custom made one
You could get the stock crank cryo preped and hardened although forged is better.
Dual stage, well 2 sets of nitrous solenoids.
1st stage has a predetermined amount of power and second also has a predetermined power level, you decide.
Then you can have both levels come on via tach (msd dis 4) or push button.
