• About to become a nitrous junkie...

i just broke down and bought a used n2o kit from a friend of mine, although i plan on rebuilding it, the solenoids look a little old...but my question is this, the bottle and line look just fine, it has the solenoids, mounting brackets, relays, bottle, and a fogger nozzle, this was a wet kit and im planning on converting it to a straight dry kit
is it possible to order replacement nozzles or would it be cheaper just to clean these up and service them? they both work btw...
everything in the kit works, im just wanting to make sure its the best it can be..hehe
i plan on buying a window switch, wot switch, fpss, and then put it on a manual button...im paranoid...
does anyone have any advice on this as far as buying new parts? any help much appreciated

why change to a dry wet kit is alot safer and better from what i hear

nozzles are no prob to find you can get those anywhere if you stay with the wet shot i would get the selenoids serviced cause if the nitrous selenoid sticks or the fuel don't open then it will turn into a bad day very fast if you convert it to dry then if it does not oopen then no biggie just get another selenoid but if it sticks open that would not be too good

How long was this nitrous system in service?
I replaced my solenoids after 2 yrs of service.
Replacing vs rebuilds, the price is quite close.
What was it on?
What jets are in it?
I wouldn't bother converting a wet kit to dry
Paranoid, nope, you are smart w/ safety devices.
I ran into problems with spraying and a fuel solenoid locking up, that is bad cause it would spray full nitrous and part fuel and go lean :(

nitrous was in use for about a year or so...had about 10 bottles through it
the kit is a NOS kit, but the bottle is a NX bottle...i dont know the #s on the kit to be honest, but i think its a 5176... the reasoning behind wanting to convert it to dry is i am lazy and dont want to run another fuel line, tap the tb, risk intake backfire, etc etc
as much as i really do want to blow this motor up, i cant afford to do so at this time, hence the reason i dont do it purposely, if i went with a wet kit, what kind of extra tuning would i need? i dont have MAFT+ or AFPR or anything for that matter, id have to spend more money on that, and i really dont have it...

you may live to regret this statement anytime you run nitrous in is a risk of blowing your engine. when used properly it is safe and very effective but speaking from expreince there is always that risk.

Right here I would say don't juice it.
You must be willing to dump some cash.
Never do something nitrous related half way.
If you do you might be buying yourself a new motor

Then don't bother juicing.
If the v6 grenades and you plan on going to a 383 stroker which is fine you do know you would have to upgrade the front suspension to handle the weight, work around the low dash level that would interfere with the carb (I've seen someone salve this by mounting his carb sideways on a custom spacer/ plate), and just balencing the computer for non engine things really isn't worth not taking a bit of time and money now and investing it into a good nitrous kit and/or a good nitorus installer check everything and install it for you
