Just bought a NOS 5175 Kit. I am putting in some NGK plugs. Car runs good. Kit also comes with FPSS. Anything else I should do to ensure safety of my car? I will be jetting for a 50 shot for the first bottle or so, until I learn the ropes. What else should I get to make it safe? Does NOS supply a WOT switch with their kits like NX does? How about a lean fuel shutoff switch? Anything I should know about installation that the instructions leave out??? Thanks. Can't wait!

WOT switch is good and easy. I dont know if the NOS kit comes with one but I have it on my NX kit. Maybe try a window switch and get a bottle heater so you can keep good bottle pressure. Track will make you use a Blow down tube wich I think does come with the kit but if not get one of those too.

Remove your IAT mod, but that should be all of the safety stuff you need. The FPSS is a lean fuel shutoff. NOS does not supply a WOT switch, like NX, since you have an M5 you might want to get one, or just pray you never miss a shift.98 NOS\'d Camaro 3.8 A4<br />99 Hyundai Elantra 2.0 A4

The NOS 5175 kit comes with a wot switch and a blowdown tube.
I also got a fuel pressure gauge for mine, but that was mainly in preparation for the supercharger. The fpss will have already turned off the nitrous before you would notice a low fuel pressure condition on the guage anyway.
The jet that comes with the kit will be for an 85 shot. WOT switch only sprays at 100% throttle. A window switch will only spray between a certain RPM range.
I have wondered this myself about the FPSS. It seems to me that when the car hits the rev limiter it will turn off the fuel pump wich will cause fuel pressure in the fuel rail to fall off cuasing the FPSS to turn off the nitrous system. Or does hitting the rev limiter turn off the injectors? If it turns off the injectors it would be a whole different story. Does anyone know if the rev limiter turns off the injectors or the pump itself?
I have hit the rev limiter with my nitrous I had the FPSS installed but when I did it the engine died. Nothing bad happend just stalled the motor.

Here's the problem. If I miss a shift (I don't know about anyone else, but I drop the clutch at full throttle) I am going WOT in nuetral for a split second. So I don't think a WOT switch will take care of it. Second, a Window switch would mean that the nitrous would still spray when the clutch was in between shifts until the revs drop below the RPM window minimum. So it seems that only a combination of the two would safetly prevent a missed shift. Any thoughts? I am thinking about geting a button that sprays only when I press it, and only while I am pressing it, and mounting it on the shift knob.1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH

The window switch has two cut offs. One usually set at 3k and the other one you can set at 5900. This way when you miss a shift yeah your still at WOT so that switch still lets nitrous flow but as soon as you get to 5900 it turns off. The push button sounds a little to complicated on a M5 but this is coming from a simple A4 guy who doesn't have to do more than push the pedal and go.
Also I've heard that not all NOS kits come with the FPSS, seams that some have them and some don't. One more semi-safety thing you might want to look into is an air/fuel ratio gauge. That way you can always tell that your running rich while your spraying. Not needed just usefull. Other gauges would be usefull too, the more you know whats going on with your engine the better. I know a guy with an M5 who thought he was a good enough driver to push a button during each gear for nitrous.....After he sprayed in neutral a few times after missing gears, he now has the WOT switch and window switch. It's just a PITA to do, and the WOT switch comes with msot kits, so why not do it just to be careful.<a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fullthrottlev6.com</a> THE SOURCE!

OK, ultimate safety for a manual car:
WOT switch
RPM window switch
Button activation switch on shifter, why? Lemme explain:
You can spray, miss a shift, meet the criteria for wot and rpm and possibly fuel psi but not in a gear, rpm's would sky rocket because of being in neutral and boom!!
So, you floor it (meeting the WOT requirement), you then hit 3,000 rpm's (meeting the RPM window switch) and then push the button only when in gear (to meet the button activation switch)
That seems to be the 'safest' way to juice a manual.
