  • Want N20 just have a few question!

Ok guys I have a 1997 Camaro and lately I have been starting to get bit by the N20 Bug. I REALLY want to get like a 75 shot but am 100% new to it. My car as of right now has 80300 miles on it. Would this be a bad idea to run N20 with a car that has this kind of milage? Also what system to get and what times can I expect? I have 3.08's open rear right now but am planning to get 3.42's with LDS. So if you all could maybe give me an idea of what I would be running with both sets of gears. Thanks for the help in advance. I suggest either a nx 20920 kit, which is a wet kit, although you can run a dry kit which is easier to set up. I run nitrous on a v6 with 110,000 miles and its fine. It all depends on how well you took car of the engine and what kinda shape its in, if it all runs well, the NOS it !!!

Owh, I picked up my kit for $469 new in the box, which isn't to bad for an extra 100 horse. The kit is well built, includes lifetime warranty solenoids, and it hits pretty hard when on the juice. www.nitrousexpress.com the

I decided on a dry kit before I really knew alot about nitrous. The thing that scared me about wet kits is nitrous backfires from fuel puddleing in the intake. From what I've heard a backfire can blow your lid to pieces, which $100 on one backfire is a little to rich for my blood. You can also rip apart your maf screen and then suck it into your engine, bad. I believe there are other bad things which can happen from this but I'm not sure. How often this happens I have no idea. A dry kit is much simpler, I went with a NOS systems dry kit and bought a used one from ebay. There really isn't a whole lot to putting in a kit, mount the bottle, run the nitrous line to the solenoids and to a jet in your intake, throw in some switches and you've got an install in a nut shell (oh and vacuum :D ) . The wet kit I'm assuming is just an added solenoid and tapping into your fuel rail and tapping your TB. One thing to keep in mind of the price of a kit is the little extras you didn't plan on, it can nickel and dime you to death. Everything you could want to know for a beginner is on this board. Search for nitrous safety and look into the FPSS and maybe even window switch although you have a A4. Spend some time on this board and you'll know what you need to know. As for the mileage I'm still a little scared about nitrous safety myself considering I haven't sprayed yet. But a good engine has a much better chance although no engine is "safe".
