ok, if i build a 3.8L especially for nitrous. IM talkin nitrous style cam, forged pistions, custom forged crank and rods and all that good stuff like out good ole bit shot V8 runners... would it be beyond that engine to handle a 150 wet shot? or what about with just the forged pistons?
Its late and i just got to thinkin....

sounds to me that u shouldnt have any problems with a properly working 150 wet shot on the engine .. now what is behind the engine might have some problems..... might as well beef up your trans and i would suggest frame connectors too... and dont forget to change your fuel filter. and other safety precautions cant hurt.... thats my .02

quote:
Originally posted by hawgs: min does a 150 shot right? he doesnt have new internals does he?

Yeah, I did have a 150 shot, backed it down to 125 after I had yet another nitrous backfire. No forged internals yet, but looking to get the GTP forged pistons and supercharger when that ATI kit comes out. I'd probably drop the shot down to 50 after I get the blower.
OK, well if the plan was say a 150 hp shot then I would do the following:
Forged crank $450 - 500
Forged pistons $80-85 each
Forged connecting rods still waiting on cost
Good set of valves I forgot the amount but not too much
That is what I would do.
Then for the nitrous system I would upgrade the fuel pump to a walbro in tank 255 lph pump.
Change the nitrous system to a direct port fogger style system that way every cylinder gets the exact same amount of fuel and nitrous.
To improve flow I would port the upper and lower intake manifold, trust me on this one.
Port the heads.
Keep the tb stock
Just so you know, I'm going to close the version 2 post cause this is a duplicate k?

I think stefan's internals are from a gtp so they are stronger.
Stock crank but possibly forged piston's.
Has anyone done it yet, nope.
Will someone do it this winter, mayyyyyybe ;)
winter project for me hopefully.
And then debut it at american iron shootout 2

I have manley chromeoly pushrods forged speed pro pistons i believe speed pro, my connecting rods are either manley or crowler lol i have to get ahold of the guy who built my motor, the only thing stock is the crank, i was quoted 1500.00 for a forged crank :(
I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...
