  • I Want Nitrous, should I get it with 95,000 miles????

I have some extra money lying around and am deciding what to do with it. I've always wanted nitrous. My 3.4 has some miles, 94,580 to be exact. The engine runs fine after years of HARD ;) driving. But would a nitrous kit be safe. I can't afford a new engine. Do I really need to get a MSD DIS 4 ignition with it? I've read that nitrous installed correctly and used correctly will not harm engines. I think this was on Nitrous Express's site or NOS's. It said you can safely run 125hp shot and not blow your engine. What does everyone think?

You should probably do a search. Many ppl have asked this before.

Nitrous CAN hurt your engine even it installed correctly. You never know what might happen when you flip the switch. And if you do decide to get it I would definitley not go over a 100 shot, unless you completely rebuild your engine w/ forged internals, etc. And even then 125 is pushing it. I wouldnt go over 85 just to be safe.

you would be taking a chance just like anyone else my suggestions

1 do a good tune up before installing the nitrous
2 do not go over 85 shot 3.4 pistons are known for giving in to nitrous

i have a 3.8 with 70K and im spraying now, no problems, but im not familiar with 3.4s personally
as long as the engine is in good running condition i dont see how it would hurt it too much

I always suggest a complete tune up for any new nitrous user.
            Is it safe??? nope.
you could lose your engine on the first shot
I run stock ignition with upgraded wires.
            125 hp wet?
Dang, that is a lot of nitorus!!
I juiced 120 dry and was pushing it on a 3.8
I and magnus only run 100 wet shots.
On a 3.4 I would stick with 75 wet max

12 Sec, would you say that after you survive the first shot that you have a better chance of surviving nitrous? (If you don't change anything?).

                You never know with nitrous.
What if something clogs a fuel solenoid or a wire becomes loose to the fpss and fuel psi drops?
                Nitrous is never safe

If a wire comes loose, wouldn't it deactivate the system? I need to get a nitrous filter ASAP!

It all depends on which one comes lose
