• 3.4 nx wet kit install done, not a good as i thought

Well, my 3.4 now has the nx wet kit 20920 in it running a 75 shot. The motor works well with the nitrous and it has more power, but it isn't as great as i thought it would be. It still is nowhere even close to a z28, it feels like a 3.8 with a few mods done to it. Nothing great at all.

That and the 10lb bottle is emptied in no time. I went around the block a few times hittin it, then went on a backup and ran it through 4 gears, twice. Then I went around the block about 2 more times and the bottle was gone. That in my opinion sux, I got about 1 min 30 seconds total usage out of the bottle. All in all I dont know if it was worth the investment. I'll be lucky if I can beat the imports even with the nitrous. Damn that sux! Oh well, shoulda just bought an 8.

Wow, something seems wrong with that. I can definately kick some @$$ with the 85 shot. Maybe the 3.4 doesn't like n2o as much. Oh well.

You shouldn't be running like a Z-28. My 3.8 will have numbers in theory close to a LT-1 (200stock + 85shot=285 crued but an estimate, LT-1=275) Give it a little time, your expectations might have been set way to high so it feels slower than it is. And those imports that you'll barely be beating, think how you'd be doing with 75 less hp

Some info? What's your bottle pressure? If you have low bottle pressure then the advertised shot will not be what you're getting.Your pressure needs to be at least 900psi to 1200psi (if I remember correctly).Good luck man,you should be feeling it a LOT more than you are. That's a 50 % increase in HP for you.

the motor seems to take the abuse from the nitrous well, it runs so good with the nitrous, its like it came stock. I don't think to rich, I ran a 50 shot first and it was ok, then I ran the 75 shot, and it is faster, the rear end squats a lot more, but its far from breaking the rear tires loose when it kicks in in first gear, maybe if im going around a corner, but straightline, nope. Then again maybe its because I have rather new eagle hp 245's on it?

Do you guys go through a whole bottle as fast as I did?

The pressure is right around 1000. I do notice a little bit of pulsation throughout the rpm range, it kicks in good at around 3500, then seems to back off a little, then pulls strong again around 4300.

thats kinda surprising to me. i have the 85 shot and my car pulls very hard when i hit it. Alot harder than my ss did. Na i go 17.2 with juice i go 15.5 thats almost 2 sec off. I smoke all these imports around me now.As far as going through the bottle i get about 8 runs down the track and thats hitting it all the way down it. Bump it up to 85 or 90 shot and you will feel it more like you wanted.

The "Seat-Of-The-Pants" meter can be VERY deceptive. When I went from 3:08 gears to 3:42's, I couldn't feel ANY difference, but one trip to the track proved that I had knocked nearly half a second off my times.
That's what you need to do. Go get some definite numbers, both with and without the juice. Then you will know FOR SURE what is happening, and have a better idea what to do about it.

Man. You're pumping 75 into a stock 3.4 with 105k miles on it? That's what I'd call a leap of faith....

I'm imagining something is heinously wrong, though. There's no way you shouldn't be pulling hard. If I recall, you come stock with 160HP..making 75 a hair shy of 50% gain. Sound funny to anyone else? I'm thinking the install wasn't quite right?

Get us times! And good luck.
