Alright, I have a '96 3800 with a little under 72,000 miles. It's been well maintained so I figure it can take a 50-85 dry shot as long as I don't cut any corners. The fuel pump was just replaced a few weeks ago(with a stock one. I know, I know) and everything is running very well. I live in colorado(5460 feet above sea level) so keep that in mind.

So far here is what I will be getting, PLEASE add anything I might need.

    NOS-05175 $520
-4 AN, purge valve kit $95
    12V/DC Bottle Heater $115
    Remote bottle valve $160
    6 NGK TR6 plugs $15
What wires should I get? Looks like most of you use Taylor, what is the part number?

Does this kit include an FPSS? If not, anyone know the part number of the one I should get?

So far looking at around $900. Yikes!

Thanks in advance for any help.

I still have the stock wires...

The 5175 is supposed to include an fpss. Some people have said their's did not. If not, they should send you one separately if you ask. Mine came with the fpss.

As far as gauges, if you are running an unmodified 5175 kit, you can probably get by with no gauges initially. I put a fuel pressure gauge on mine (expensive!). I did not get an a/f ratio gauge, but I do monitor it with autotap.

I've been bumping my jet size up and up, until now I've hit the limit on how much fuel the stock pump will deliver.

I don't have a bottle heater, and in the summer did not need it, but would need it now if I sprayed. If it was summer you could hold off on that, but if you want to run it now, you should probably go ahead with it.

Well, looks like you have done your homework
The kit should come with a fpss but mine did not.
If you don't have one then you call nos and tell them
Most people run taylors, I run accel extreme 9000 8 mm wires. they are twice as much :( as taylors
Bottle blanket is a nice accessory eventually
Nitrous psi guage is a good thing to have
After that the guages are optional but I like them
A/F ratio guage (or wide band dyno or autotap) is a nice thing
Fuel psi is a nice thing

Exhaust and intake compliment a nitrous kit.

As for the guy who asks about his fuel issue, well, what happened?
