• If I do get Nitrous....

Okay the deal. I have a 1997 Camaro that is completly stock! No muffler No CAI no nothing. I have appox 39k miles on the car, and it has been well maintneced. I just recently had the fuel injectors wires plugs water pump radiator flush fill. If I get juice what kind of stuff would I need for it to perform at peek performance? I need a complete list. My first time at the track I missed a gear so ill null it however my second run was well as follows. Keep in mind it was my first time ever racing. I weigh 300lbs and nothing in my car was took out. I.E. sub amp bookbags books cd's. Also I had just got a full tank of gas. I topped it off.

second run
R/T: .689
60': 2.357
330: 6.727
1/8: 10.452
MPH: 66.460
1000': 13.614
1/4: 16.312
MPH: 83.26

First Run
R/T: 1.274
60': 2.723
330: 7.182
1/8: 10.890

Well man, I hate to be the one who bustsa the bubble...but if you have NEVER raced much before, and are missing gears alot, nitrous isn't really the answer to your problem. I'd invest in some intake and exhaust first. Those two really make the best bang for the buck power. Just my opinion, but nitrous isn't for everybody.

Peek Performance?? The list in infinately long...
For starters - A good kit (Fuel Pressure Safety Switch Incl.)
Then - NGK TR6 Plugs, Good Wires.
If you miss gears and such - A Window switch.
Thats it for what you NEED to have.
Optional - Bottle Blanket, Bottle Warmer, Gauges (Fuel Pressure, A/F Ratio, Nitrous Pressure, etc.)
Bigger Fuel Pump, the list can go on....
I would practice at the track some more first, and start with intake and exahaust..

We call that a missed gear. And if your car is stock, and you're hitting about 83 mph on the quarter mile, why shift into 4th gear anyway? There's alot more gear there and you can get better times by staying in third. Your nitrous kit won't give you as good of gains without some other stuff like intake and exhaust first. yes, it will give you alot, but these will make it alot better.

Ok,,, just turn all of that stereo stuff down, so you can concentrate... j/k

Seriously, if you don't miss shifts, then the Window Switch is not NEEDED, but still a good idea.

First try a search cause it is in here.
Second, you need to practice more.
Nitrous is not a band aid to make things better.
It will smack you in the face if you are not careful with it.
Also do a search for a book I mentioned, it has a lot of info for the beginner to the advanced.

Even if I have everything installed by a professional I should not get it done? Ireally want nitrous, I want to get my car running very good numbers. I will get an exhaust system and cold air intake! I found a nice kit on eBay its a Nitrous Express Kit 20920 for only $480. I cant find any of your posts 12sec.

Having a profesional install the nitrous isn't going to change your driving skill. You should do the basic intake, exhaust mods first, then once you feel that your as doing as good as you can, then you can add the nitrous. Just my opinion. When I went to my first autocross, I was talking to one of the instructors about I was planning on getting some suspension work, and he told me learn how to drive my car the way it is right now, then once you got the skill down, then upgrade.

 I have been driving my car for over a year now. I am not new to driving fast or anything, look at my chevelle. My driving skills are fine! That particular day was just my first time. I wont be getting it done if I do until summer, that way I can have all my fun. My Chevelle by the way had a lil over 500hp. I still have its just put in the garage for winter and waiting on paint. I cant believe that you guys are telling me I shouldnt get this. I already know my car and its limits.

You said it yourself, "day was just my first time." So, in other words first time at the track?

The chevelle, has 500 hp? Is that dyno proven? What mods, got pics?
