  • i think my tr6's were shot..

i finally got around to changing out my plugs and the old one look like hell. for the past month i was having problems while i was hitting the spray. the car was chugging and not "hitting" like it use to. i tried everything and i still got the same results,.well today i changed plugs and wires and the old plugs are white(lean condidtion) and the wires had burnt spots all over them.

i checked the gaps on all the old plugs and most of them were .045. when i put them in the were .035..i had the accel 9000 wires and they didn't hold up. i put some talyor's in and the car is running much smoother. i going to post pics of the plugs so everyone can have a look. i want to know if i'm running extrememly lean or so-so lean. i run a 100 shot, also these plugs have 20,000 miles on them and roughly 15 bottles.. i'll post updates, cause i'm going to fill the bottle tommorow. i also have a boost-a-pump on order. this should help me out.

This is one of my pet peeves!!!
Check the damn plugs here and there!!!
    Sorry man
If you sense a problem with your nitrous system or engine don't spray.
Take the time to remove the spark plug wires. Inspect them and clean them.
I have always used armor all and paper towel and just clean them.
I then ALWAYS use dielectric grease in both ends.
    Plugs are a must!!
I've burned off sooo many electrodes, ran lean, rich etc and I've learned a lot from them.
ALWAYS take the time out for them.
Gap the ngk tr6's to 0.035
If you run any other plug (in my opinion) and you spray change to this plug.
Always inspect the plug once you remove it:

Spotting the signs of detonation on a plug is easy. Look for what appears to be flecks of pepper on the insulator nose. Those little black specks are bits of the combustion chamber deposits knocked loose by the detonation's shock waves. Slightly more severe detonation produces tiny balls of aluminum that tend to attach themselves to the center electrode. Really damaging detonation will put a dusting of gray, ash-like aluminum oxides all over the plug nose. If you ever see that, it means you have an engine to rebuild.

Here is a bit more info:
