  • NOSzles tested!!!!

    Super Chevy March 2003 issue.
They have a 4 page write up on it.
    N/A
    612 hp and 593 tq
    100 hp jets
    717 hp and 710 tq
105 hp gain and 117 tq
    175 hp jets
    772 hp and 793 tq
160 hp gain and 200 tq
    300 hp jets
    938 hp and 1034 tq
326 hp gain and 441 tq

To me those are weak tq gains.
I saw 160 tq gain on a dry shot 120 hp jet sprayed into my cold air intake.
I saw 180 tq gain on a wet shot 100 hp jet sprayed in the throttle body.

They do make the comments that the high psi plastic tubing is very nice to work with but they do mention that many people prefer the look of the hard metal lines.

The plastic tubes to me look like a toy and not very professional.

Why the hell do they use Teflon tape in this issue??? Teflon tape leaks, the paste is a must.

Well, sounded cool, but I'm not impressed. The gains are just not there in TQ
They used 110 octane on the 100 and 175 shot and C-16 VP race gas for the 300 shot

    This is just an FYI

Wow that is kinda disappointing I was sorta looking into that setup too!

Guess I'll stick with a dry shot for now!

I would imagine that every motor reacts differently to nitrous. Maybe its just a motor issue and not a nozzle issue.

perhaps the motor is set up to make more hp than tq w/ the cam and heads they're running. it says a 100 hp jetting, and it shows a 100+ hp improvement.

Ok, well I hear what you guys are saying but nitroused cars are known to make tons of torque!!!
A typical LS1 with a 125 shot usually puts down somewhere in the 500's w/ tq (disclaimer, this is what I have witnessed on dyno's)

I am just saying that I am extrmemely dissappointed w/ the tq numbers

326 hp gain and 441 tq

from a 300 shot?? i am very impressed with this setup!
i always agree with ya james and true the tq #'s are a little lower, but you know it depends on how the engine is prepared. and in each situation they are gaining more hp and tq then the shot they were running when other situations i have heard of come shy of the gain compared to the shot. by the way what kind of car was this tested on any info on it?

This was just an engine on a stand.
It was deemed "The Coolest Rat" back in Nov 02 issue (they showed the complete build up.

If I only saw 441 tq from a 300 shot I would be extremely dissappointed.
              I gain 180 rwtq with a 100 shot.
This is a guess off the top of my head but if I had a 300 shot then I should gain 540 tq?

These dyno numbers are at FLYWHEEL only, NOT rear wheel
