  • 3.4L Block Tolerance

I am working on a rebuild on my 3.4L V6 and I am going with Ross pistons and Manley is doing some custom forged aluminum connecting rods for me. My main concern at this point is wondering how much nitrous the actual 3.4L V6 block can handle before breakdown. I AM NOT looking for a guestimate about how much nitrous this setup can run, but what the block will take.

    Thanks!

If no one has maxed it out then the only thing we can do is guesstimate.
I do not know, my only answer would be a guess

Tiago and I figured a 200 shot would probably be max. I was planning on running a 2 stage setup with a 125 initial shot and the total amount after second shot would be 200. I think it should be fine, but I was looking for someone who might have researched the matter a little more than I.

I do not think it could handle a 200 shot
        Even 150 is iffy.
        The 3.4's aren't super strong.
150+ I'd be nervous, and this is coming from a nitrous junkie

Do it. You won't know until you try. If you pull it off you WILL be the fastest 3.4L.

True, but I would rather go into it with a little idea of what it will handle. The bottom end will definitely handle it, but will the block? Guess we'll find out.

We will see,i think its a pretty durable block...

I guess you could get the all aluminum one I think it was built ot handle tolerances better but it is aluminum, I think it might have steel sleeves though.

how much does a 3.4L crate motor go for? Maybe buy a new block from GM thats never been used
