I'm just curious I am planning an all Zex system for her blackness, I would like to know what some of you think that use Zex products on your cars,or have had experience with Zex? by the way I just got their catalog today&they offer this cool new product called>injector that is basically an air filter with a high flow reausable design that has the front of it plumbed for a dry nitrous shot, they also claim a>50+cfm gain over other after market filters with a>75shot of the fast stuff :D what do you think> <or not? I also saw that their LT1 kits come with a fuel booster pump I thought that was a nice touch to, on that subject what's the pro's&con's of a booster pump versus just installing a higher flow pump to replace the factory one? as always thanks for your help opinons

You can always have an NOS or NX bottle painted black if that's why you like ZEX. Every TNT bottle I've seen lately has been black. Plumbing an ai filter for a dry kit, and making it hold your nozzle is not that hard, why pay for it? K&N is still gonna own their filter as far as CFM flow numbers.www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

never said it was hard to modify an air filter for a nitrous nozzle, I just said that's it's one of their new products, I don't want a tnt,nw,nos,nx kit I want a Zex kit I think if done right they are the safest kits, I have also read a few good articles on them in Hot Rod attesting to the fact that the system is easy&basically failsafe

Why do you want Zex?
Please explain
I'm not a fan of it but I'm open to learn

Notice I said basically it's failsafe in my other post, I realize that by adding over>50%+more RWHP it is dangerous things get worn harder&there is more stress&heat issues not to mention the demand on the fuel system, but we're not here to talk about that sh*t. James I don't know man it just looks really cool&I've heard good things about it, it's also cheap man as you probally know kits go for as little as>$250-$300 on ebay. I mean I realize it doesn't take instein to spray nitrous or make a kit, all their sensor does is have you rev the engine a few times to learn when the voltage spikes in the tps, so than the sensor knows that's wot so than it says ok I can spray the nitrous hit, I also thinks it cool that it internally adjusts for the pressure of the bottle. to qoute zex>are internal bottle pressure adjusts so that your never to lean or to rich just the right amount nitrous per use so you get more out of every bottle<basically good to the last drop :D

Yeah, it sounds nice but after reviewing it I wasn't impressed.
I've heard of random problems (do a search for some old posts in here).
I'm sticking with TNT NOS was good also.
But, I'm not close minded to ignore all other kitsRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

You get what you pay for. Bottom Line. It's a hard lesson to learn, but its true.
Zex is popular because its easy to install. I have heard of them going on in under 30 minutes, but they are basic. Try popping the top off of the "Magic Box" and customizing that bad boy....
I have seen many cars that are using ZEX, wasn't much impressed. But I haven't heard anything bad. Give it a shot if your hard up for some squeeze.1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH

well I emailed a power seller on ebay the other day about a complete Zex setup, and today he got back to me with a price for everything on my list that I wanted, so here it is>$1,060 for the following>zex dry kit with pills up to>125HP,remote bottle opener, bottle heater, purge kit, pressure gauge, inline boost pump rated to>650+HP,blow down safety kit&finally their brand new product the air injector air filter already plumbed for nitrous in the tip. I think it's a good sounding price anyone else care to voice their opinions on the total price versus the cost?

Once upon a time... I had a ZEX kit. Didn't like it much. If you have an automatic I would never buy one. If you have a manual, you just need to be carefull with it. My 3.4 died twice when on its test runs. The ZEX wasn't the only factor in the motor going both times, but it was a major factor. The reason I don't recomend it for the automatics is that while you stay full throttle the system keeps spraying. When it shifts is where it has the problem. My #5 cylinder went lean both times. Whether the computer killed the signal to the injector or the injector was intermittent the zex setup didn't help. I dislike the fact that the kit is a dry setup. The car may have lived longer if it was a wet kit.
You also loose nitrous with the zex system, because it uses nitrous to pressurize the fuel system(Not much but every little bit helps). That is also how the system adjusts for the low bottle pressure.
I myself would go with a NOS or NX wet kit.\" As being is to becoming, so is pure itellect to opinion, so is science to belief, and understanding to the peception of shadows.\" - Plato

i personally refuse to use anything other than NX hardware. i have never had a problem with the kits used on my 68 SS, 85 GT and my 00 Z28. my step father has been using NX stuff since before he an my mom got married(i was 5 at the time) he says he's never had a problem with thier stuff either. Glenn has been building cars and racing since he was 16, he's 52 now. in all of his years playing with nitrous he says that NX is the highest quality and most reliable that he's ever used. trust me this man is a high performance god. he's taught me everything i know. i remember tooling around in his 69 z-28 when i was six and ending up in the back seat when he launched it(i was sitting in the front passenger seat originally) that car had a NX plate system
moral of the story is....USE NX!!!1968 Camaro SS 509 BB M4
1970 Mustang Mach 1 351W M4
1985 Mustang GT 302 M5
Me: Scratch your chin for me.
Jepe: $@&% you
dstrbdv6: if you live past forty i\'ll start going to church again

after doing alot of research and asking questions, i found that NOS is a very repuitable company for nitrous products, but NX has a higher quality of wiring and selonoids. Much of this was thru owners comments but Im sticking with NX.-Justin-
Red 1996 Camaro RS- Wrecked 11-1-03...

1991 Camaro RS
