  • Ran a 100+ Dry shot?!?

All right, I went to a local import shop yesterday to get a mounting band for my fuel press gauge and decided I would switch to a 75 shot after going lean last time. I gave the guy at the counter the jet I had in there and he was like holy crap, this is probably a 100shot. He went and talked to the manager to figure out what a 75-85 shot should be in my car and he said a 36nitrous/42bypass is what I should be running. The jet I gave him was a 46 and the manager said I was running over a 100shot. I thought I had a 42bypass before but might have been larger cause I just went to check and there was no jet in there, I know there was one before. So what shot was I running? What ever it was it was damned fast and had a multiple missfire with two people in the car once. What jets should I be running for a 50 75 75+? I guess I'll find that table again

        for the NX kit a 52n 33f is a 100 shot.

47N 42B is supposed to be the 85 shot mark.
            You had it right.

Well I figured I had the numbers right from checking here on the board but thought I might have got something wrong. Why would an import shop be so far off on something like this? I mean this is what they do and it's a good shop from what I hear. hehe maybe they don't want a fast camaro out there :D Oh well already ordered the jet, what shot is a 36 going to be? Maybe the jet I have isn't a NOS jet?

A 36 nitrous jet would be somewhere between 50hp and 70hp, depending on who you ask. The NOS install booklet lists a 36 as a 70hp. But by averaging the ratings I got from several online sources, it works out closer to a 50 shot.

                    Time to use another shop.
NOS jets only fit NOS kits

I think the jets are interchangable, but the sizes are only good to determine the shot size for the specific kit. If you need say a .047, then I think any brand works? right? I know Zex and NOS have the same jets...
