  • Stupid NOS Jet Sizes!!!

Well, in an effort to move my solenoids near my intake, and away from my exhuast manifolds, I started looking at the jets....
My nitrous jet, was a .040 jet. The fuel, was a .042... Now in my instruction book, it says to have a 45 nitrous, 42 fuel. My fuel jet seems ok, but what the hell nitrous shot am I running with a 40 jet? a 60 shot? ARRGGG!
Oh well, I am getting 100 shot jets soon!!!!

I thought the 85 hp jet for nitrous was 47? Been soooo damn long I don't remember. Maybe 45 then??

    As for a 40, maybe a 60 shot?

I'd try an 85 before you bump up to 100.

Yep, for a dry kit, the nitrous is 47. The bypass jet is 40. Might doublecheck that fine print on the jet and see if your "42" is really a "47". You may just have the jets reversed.

Please post when you get the 100 shot jets, 'cause I'm curious what the sizes are going to be on those. I'm running a 63 jet, which is supposed to be a 120.

Edit - Oh yeah, the book is out of date, it says the nitrous jet is a 45, but they always ship a 47 jet with the kit.

Oops. Just checked the book. The bypass jet is a 42, not a 40 like I was thinking. I don't know how you ended up with a 40 jet... It would probably be around 65-70hp.

Yeah I know the bypass is ok... It used to be James'.... :D . I will try an 85 and 100 shot.. I think I decided to go with a 55 jet for the 100 shot, just by simply averaging the 85 shot and the 120 shot (The two KNOWN shots).
John - Are you still running the 42 fuel jet with your 120 shot.

The 55 jet should be somewhere between 100 and 110 hp.

I did go with a smaller bypass jet, to get more fuel psi, since the smaller bypass will apply more pressure to the back side of the fpr this way. I don't remember the exact size, but it is around a 30.
