  • Gonna go nitrous

    Over the summer i am 95% sure im goin with nitrous, the only thing is that there are a lot of people around me that always rip on me for havin a v6 (usually guys in Mustang GT's) and i really wanna surprise them, i wanna keep the gauges outta their view so it looks likeim runnin them NA, im gonna find a nice place to hide the bottle, probably in the spare tire well, and ill NEVER pop the hood, FOR NO ONE.

    So the only problem is the gauges, and i dont really wanna risk it and not put them in there especially since this IS my only car

    Any info. would be appreciated, thanks

    Put them in the arm rest. its about the only other place that you can put them, it seems that it would be impractical to put them there because you wont hardly benefit from it being there. Or you could make a custome gauge pod and take out the a/c panel and put them there?

      think one would fit in the ash tray? i dont smoke anyway...

      then i can just use a pillar gauge pod and tell people its for "looks"...

      whos gonna suspect a v6 if i act like a ricer? haha

          shiznittle, i totally forgot about the switches...especially if i put a gauge in the ash tray i cant hide my switches there....i can put the gauges in the center console cant i? then i can just open the center console when i race right? cuz its not like im gonna be using the nitrous when im just cruisin around town so i wont need constant attention on the gauges, right?

            You could do it like this and put in more gauges cause u dont need to mount a progressive controler

              the point of the guages is to be able to see them. If you're gonna go through all this BS, might as well not even put them in to bgin with. Maybe use them to "tune" the car on a few runs, but nothing permanent. I dont know, use autotap or something to monitor it during a race. But n2o on the street?

                no, im not going to use it on the street, ill make these guys run me at the track and make sure the track doesnt put times up...i wont race on the street, already got arrested for that once, i dont need it again

                  What would really be sneaky would be to have a computer in the car hooked up with autotap, and then have a LCD screen in your visor. It could be all hidden if someone looked inside, but you would just need to flip down the visor and all the guages would be right there.

                  I guess that won't work for a remote nitrous gauage, but you could hide that in the glove compartment, or the bottom of the cup holder/ash tray.

                      damn thats a good idea....im gonna have to save up my money, that would be pretty badass though

                      they wouldnt knwo what they got themselves into until i flipped the visor down before we raced, haha

                      that was a badass direct nitrous kit that guy had too

                        With the LS1 I am going to have the new NX direct port wet kit. Its hidden, solenoids are even built into the fuel lines. Ill rig up a LCD display in one of the A/C vents (I have seen it done) and run a few things into it. Then hide the switch and bottle along with the lines. YOu might find the switch from sitting in the car but thats about it :D . No point in running all sorts of gauges. Just have a LCD computer, if anything goes wron it sets of an alarm and displays the problem. You can even program it to turn things off for certian things. Its really simple and like a stand alone management system, I don't know who sells it though. I like the LS1 T/A vents because they are the perfect size for the 3 inch gauges, but the a pilar is the best for gauges. Right in your field of vission

                              So, you want a hidden system?
                              Not too difficult.
                              The only thing that could be visable is the FPSS

                              Slacker posted an AWESOME pic!!!

                              That is a good place for the switchs.

                              My buddy just got a set up installed and placed an air/ fuel ratio guage down by his right knee under the dash. Visible for the driver but not people glancing in the car.

                              Solenoids can be wrapped in black electrical tape to conseal them.

                              Braided lines can be covered by black wire loom.

                              Bill Spano has a nice hidden system, I saw it.
