  • do i need a boost-a-pump?

I finally got a centerforce to spray the big 100 shot. anyway, i have stock tubular manifolds and the rest is 3" exhaust with no plate in the Borla catback. When i spray the car off the line it feels really good, i grab second and when the tires finally hook it feels good and then kinda starts surging or somethin. The bottle was full when i ran, 1st run. i don't have a bottle warmer but the pressure should be fine with a full bottle, right? Also when i've finished a run and push in the clutch the car will always go dead, but will start back up just fine. I figured maybe it was the lack of backpressure but not so sure anymore. if i'm at say 5500rpms and push the clutch in it goes dead, or will try to regardless if i'm sprayin or not. I'm more or less worried that the fuel isn't gettin there in the upper rpms on the bottle. I can't imagine the nitrous surging on the first run of a full bottle. What do you guys think? Could the fuel pressure be droppin off in the upper rpms? Should i put in a Walbro?

my belt has also been slippin a good bit in the upper rpms. I just thought about our fuel pumps being electric. maybe that's why it tries to die and the nitrous cuts in and out. I'm just throwin out things it could possibly be, i have no idea whatsoever.

its probably not enough fuel...either get the boost-a-pump or a Walbro pump...i think there is also inline pumps available but i dont know anyone that runs one..

        Lower the shot immediately.
You don't need to be at 100 initially.
        Practice.
Hit the dyno and wideband dyno tune it.
Then if all is good bump up to to the 100 shot.
This may require a combo of diff jets, fuel pump upgrade, kenne bell boost a pump and so on.

i've been runnin the 50 shot since last summer because of the stock clutch. I would get the car on the dyno and wideband it but the closest place is Baton Rouge, LA at thunder racing. I guess i'll have to make the trip. I do have a fuel pressure safety switch i would've wired in had i known how. I've also had a misfire at idle but once you give it gas it's smooth, so it's hittin every now and then that's for sure, i'm gonna change the plugs.

If you have nitrous, get the walbro, don't get an inline pump. The peice of mind is worth it all by itself. Let alone the fact that it fixed my problems, my car wouldn't die, but the FPSS would cut the nitrous out.
I'd say get a walbro, start on an 85 shot, then 100 shot.
