  • It's official! I'm spraying! (Updated!)

Yep, that’s right. Mr. “Always gonna be N/A” himself! Got a NX wet kit with a 15lb bottle, bottle heater, purge, gauges, you name it! Called the shop today, and they’re done with the car. They even set it up to dual purge out of the nostrils like I wanted it! Says veryone around the shop loves the purge. Of course, I haven’t seen all of this ‘cause I’m working in Dallas, and won't see it until Thursday evening. Wife will pick the car up today though.

Right now, it’s set up for a 50 shot, but I’m still waiting on my MSD-DIS4 replacement to come from the company. Hey guys, I know that NX says that timing retards are not necessary with their wet kits, but I’m kinda scared. Do you think that it will be okay to spray the 50 without the timing retard. I can richen the fuel mixture if necessary. My box is on backorder, and I sure wanna try out the juice!

I'll be spraying this weekend and yes 50 shot without retard should be fine.

There was a post a while back that either slacker or pgriff posted I'm don't remember for sure who that had the retard chart for size of shot!

I'm going to hook up a SCUBA tank in the hatch area, just for the laughter factor of purging at every redlight I stop at. :D

          Bad thing to try.
There is a lot more in the 100 shot.
          Best of luck though.

          As for the timing issue.....
50 hp shot of nitrous should be completely fine w/ stock timing.
Even up to 75-85 should be fine.
100 is where things get iffy.
I've seen some places say 100 shot needs 1-2 degree's of timing reduced.

Thanks, guys! I feel better. I know that there are no guarantees with nitrous, but thanks for your opinions. I'm gonna test out the 50 shot.

Well guys, I did it! I am very impressed! And that's just a 50 shot? Man, this stuff is great! I should have done this sooner! Oh, purging looks bad a$$! I didn't know that it was that loud!

I had my autoxray hooked up. First run, it ran a little lean, but damn it was moving! No backfires or anything, just vrooommmm!!!! I richened it up, and my o2s were .93 mostly, some .94 and a momentary drop to .90. Didn't pull like the first run, but I have no complaints. Can't wait to get my MSD box back, so I can hook up the 75 shot. If I ever decide to run a 100 shot, I'll get the Walbro fuel pump first. Thanks guys, this stuff is great! Usually the first time spraying isn't that impressive because all the carbon build up is cleaned out.
See how it is on the 2nd or 3rd bottle and then give us an update
