  • I'm so happy with my 120 dry shot!!

Pulled a couple of 13.7's 13.8's yesterday, trapping around 102mph. Having a full bottle, and a bottle heater, works wonders.

But I HAVE TO get the boost-a-pump put on there. I was running out of fuel on top end, and the last two passes I was running out at the top of each gear. psi dropped from 60 to 45, which was cycling the nitrous solenoid on and off... :(

Now it's got a slight miss in it at idle, and a little more hunting at idle than usual. I probably burned one or more plugs when it went lean on top end. Five passes... Hopefully it is only plugs.

    Congrats man!!!!!
I bet it is just an electrode or two.
No biggie, I've done it soooo many times : (

Check the passenger side middle plug :D
Then passenger side front plug :D

Boost a pump solved my fuel issues on the 120 dry shot.
Crank it up to 50% and let her rip!!!

Keep us updated, it should be just the plugs

I was thinking you had mentioned a passenger side plug before... I started checking them all on Sunday evening. Started on the driver side, #1 plug, going counterclockwise.

      They all look SO clean!

Anyway, I got all the way around to the middle one on the passenger side (almost done), and then cracked the insulator putting it back in... :( I felt it when it let go. So I just stopped there. Maybe it will be that front one.

The parts store had to order a plug for me, since they don't stock them, and it should be in at lunch time today. I should know something this evening.

After the boost-a-pump goes on, I may still try running that 67 jet I have... :D I'm estimating it to be real close to a 150 shot!

I'll have to evaluate my pulse widths and o2's for a while when I get the 63 jet ironed out, and see if I have enough margin left to go on up.

Thanks! Before any mods (other than the K&N filter...) I was running anywhere from 15.7 to 16.0. And after exhaust, alum d/s, 180 thermo I'm running 15.4's.

Congrats! Just wondering. Are you retarding your timing any?

Not yet... I need to get my fuel issue taken care of, then start watching kr with 89 and 93 octane runs, to see if I have any timing issues that become apparent as real knock vs false knock. (false would be the same kr values with either octane, real would be worse with the 89).

I'm also thinking of trying a 150 dry shot, if the fuel injectors can handle it. This may be where I cross the line. (if I even go up that high?)

You're so lucky, I've called both NX and Jetchip 'cause I didn't wanna retard my timing. I'm gonna have to lose 4 degrees, and I'll just be running an 85 shot. I hate that, but don't wanna give up the chip.

Gotta keep telling myself that I'll still be gaining around 70hp.

Why so much? I've heard 1-2 degrees per 50hp...

But I've not heard anyone having to on an 85 shot on our cars. :(

                          I wouldn't even spray a 150 dry shot.
John, take the time and try other things first.
I don't want to find out you blew your motor :(

The jet chip advances timing 4 degrees, so I guess they're saying that to cover themselves and protect the novice like me. NX says I could probably get away with retarding about 2 degrees, as long as I don't try and run stoich on the a/f ratio. Jet says that I should use no bigger shot that a 50 shot without retarding the timing.

                            Anyone else have an opinion?

Ok that makes more sense. Advanced timing would not be good for nitrous, so I can see why they would say to take it back to the stock levels.
