• Officially the biggest dry shot here?!

I ran a 150 dry shot tonight, for five passes. As far as I know, that's the biggest dry shot any of us on this board have ever run.

13.4 on my big ol' 18" wheels, and 13.2 when I borrowed some ET streets for the back. Twelve seconds is so close now... :D

This is with a 67 jet, which according to my research and to the people in the local f-body club, is a 150 shot.

150????
You are pushing it WAY too much.
Even I wouldn't go that far.
If you continue that set up I would:
1) put it on the dyno and wide band tune it to make sure the car can supply that amouht of fuel needed.
2) maybe flow test the injectors
3) think about upgrading pumps

Congrats on new times though

You are making ME nervous!!!!
I wouldn't have the guts to spray a 150 dry shot

Yeah, I went into it, mentally prepared to do an engine swap if necessary...

I got the bap on there, and the car was running rich with the 63 jet. So I figured, well, what's a good way to lean it out, I know, more nitrous!

So I put the 67 on there. And it ran rich too!!!

I had to max out the wot setting on the maft, to the lean side, to get it in range, and it was still a little on the rich side.

Of course, whenever you resolve one issue, another one pops up... I'm getting 7-9 degrees of kr on this shot... That's the thing that I've got to account for now. Probably have to set the timing back 2-4 degrees.

I had 1/4 tank of 87 in there, and put 8 gallons of 93 in it, before I drove up to the track. A pure tank of 93 would be better too.

Yes, I can be a little crazy sometimes. :D

It seems to go through nitrous a little faster now too for some reason?

Hopefully the car is fine, I'm autocrossing it this morning.

john your mph should be alot higher with that shot..

i'm hitting 103mph on my 100 and i'm spinning the first 100 feet.. i bet if your race some race fuel opened up the exhaust;you'd gain like 5 mph..

when i openened my cut-out i gained 3mph on the bottle. next time i'm going to run open-y and see if i can gain some more mph.

I'm hoping it will. I'm tellin' you, those 18" wheels are bad for it...

Your 100 is a wet shot? They seem to hit harder, and for some reason pull harder.

I have headers, 3" cat, 3" exhaust (borla) and had the fully open plate in it.

The kr, and running rich, both worked against me. I was still running .960-.980 o2's!!

It might. I may have to bite the bullet and get something to retard the timing a little though.

You could try 100 octane cam 2
That is o2 sensor and cat friendly
That might help on the knock retard

18's will definately hurt mph.
All that extra rotating mass
Times can definately be improved.
Practice and tuning will help

Best of luck :D

Thanks!

I'm gunnin' for 12's now... I thought I would be happy with mid 13's... Never ends does it!? :D

I'm thinking about maybe some kind of timing retard, but the ones I looked at today were all for aftermarket ignitions. Not sure yet what to do about retarding the stock ignition, maybe upgrade from the maft to the maft+.

I'm prowling around for some bfg dr's and skinnies... Trying to in touch with nino on his rear wheels/tires.

I gained 48lbs of rotating mass, with these 18" wheels and tires.

I will have a twelve et one way or another... Without stripping the car.

Even if I have to do 2-stage nitrous driven off a window switch at 4500rpm+ for the second stage.

Thanks for the info on the hi-octane fuel!

you can purchased a TRC-1 to retard the timing..

also VP sells 104 race fuel(02 safe and compression freindly0. i'm sure that will help an ton on the KR.

i'll be hitting the track once the new cam goes in next week, hoping for a 12.3 or better. i know my car can do it.

race fuel, open-y and good bottle psi are going to be the ticket..

when i ran my 12.9 my bottle psu was a 150 psi low.. i was seeeing around 875

i'm going to put out awesome numbers at the end of this month
