  • Blow Down Tube?

Does anyone know the actual rules on a blow down tube I know you have to have one but what materials can it be made out of? I have the normal one that comes with the kit but it doesn't reach out of the car due to the location of my bottle. I know you can use steel braided line as well. Basically I have the normal blow down tube and its about 3-4" short of making it out of the car and I Currently have fuel line clamped to the bottom of the blow down tube vented out of the vehicle!

Will that pass inspection or will I need to run and get some braided line?

Called NHRA and it has to be a SINGLE tube so no that will not pass inspection guess I will picking up an 8an fuel line!

      That's good to know.

I'm thinking about getting a 15lb bottle to mount in the same place as the current 10lb bottle, and it is supposedly 3" taller, which means my current blow-down tube will be about 1.5" too short...

You can run a rubber tube. I use one, I talked to the safety techs at our track and they said its fine, just as long as its vented to the outside of the car. It works for me.

Yea you can use rubber fuel line IF it is a single line connected to the bottle by way of adapter, and it has to be 1 SINGLE line vented out of the car. Supposedly if it is a bendable line like fuel line you're supposed to have something on it to keep the line from blowing back into the car as well(IE bulkhead)!

As long as it exits the vehicle that is the only requirement.
The metal blow down tube extends only so far so you must add something on the end of it.

Nach, what you have done should be fine.
Any questions though ask your track officials, they might suggest something else, but it should be fine
