After doing alot of research I think I might buy the nos 5175, even though it does not seem to be the safest. Kits like the Venom(cuts nitrous automaticly if it runs lean) seem safer, but noone has any real experiance with it or recommends this kit. The nos 5175 seems like everyone's best dry kit choice. Has anyone experianced any injector lockup, backfires, holes in pistons, or other problems on account of the NOS-5175 kit? Tried a search which also helped, but would like any feedback, thanks.

The Venom kit from what I hear is not good.
As Far as safety on a 5175 Kit you can get things to make it a lot safer than just the kit.
Fuel Pressure Safety switch-cuts nitrous off if your fuel pressure drops too much.
Wide Open Throttle Switch-for automatics, only allow the nitrous to function when at full throttle.
Harlan Window Switch-for standards, only allow the nitrous to function between certain RPMs.
Possibly Upgrade your fuel pump to and in tank, in line, or get a boost a pump to ensure full fuel delivery.
You will not experience the Injectors locking up unless you are spraying a fairly large shot. They SHOULD NOT lock up on the stock 85 shot that the 5175 kit comes with.
A dry kit will not give you backfires because it does not add any extra fuel.
Frying Pistons? Just have a way to monitor fuel pressure and air/fuel ratio and don't run lean and you shouldn't hurt a piston until you have to start worrying about Large shots once again!
I've Only been using my NOS dry kit for a short time but have seen no problems with it as of yet.
I started with a 50 shot and have moved up to a 70 still with no problems I keep a close eye on things with autotap.
I have a walbro 255 in tank fuel pump
FPSS(fuel pressure safety switch)
WOT switch(wide open throttle switch)
and a nitrous pressure gauge. thats about it other than monitoring it with autotap. I also have a maft+ waiting to be installed which allows you to adjust air/fuel and timing!

In previous threads I came accross this:
"If you get the NOS-05175 kit, you'll get an 85 jet with it, and a bypass jet to run to the fuel pressure regulator. The kit will bump you to about 60 psi."
Is this true? Does the NOS-5175 increase fuel preasure like a Zex kit or was this a bad quote?
Thanks for the help.

I shattered a connecting rod, destroyed a piston and broke a lot of good things with my NOS kit 5175 :D
Click sig for a pic of what was found in my oil pan :D
Why did it happen???
Tuning!!!
I was running the nos kit 5175 with a 120 dry shot with no problems at all. I upgraded injectors from stock 19's to accel 24's
1 month later BOOM!!!
It would run rich off the line and lean top end.
I currently run stock injectors nowRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
nitrous et & mph: 12.168 & 110.95 mph, n/a 13.746 & 96.38 mph
2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8: 12.125, 116.45
2010 Ford Taurus SHO: no times yet
