  • Spark Plug Heat Range & IGN.

What heat range should I run with75 shot nitrous?
*NGK TR6 Spark Plugs, One heat range colder than stock, gapped at .035 $2.00

*NGK Racing R5724-8 Spark Plugs, three heat ranges colder than stock, gapped at .032 $2.25

*NGK Racing R5724-9 Spark Plugs, four heat ranges colder than stock, gapped at .036 $2.25

Does this ignition set up sound good to run with nitrous: MSD coils,Taylor Spiro-Pro 8mm Spark Plug Wires, and some of the plugs listed above?

Do I really need the coils OR any of this or would jus the plugs be good enough?

Get the TR6s. That is what I run, and I am not sure if it is an altitude thing, but I had the best results gapping mine at .037.

For ignition, I'd just suggest NGK TR6 spark plugs and the Tyler Spiro wires. Should work fine.

The really cold plugs are going to foul in everyday driving, and cause problems later when you spray, if they're fouled. The TR6's are plenty.

I ran an 85 shot, a 100 shot, and a 120 shot, on the stock coils and stock wires... Have had no misfire problems with them.

(also ran a 150 shot on them. and am now converting over to an MSD DIS-4 just because it might give me a little more spark if I decide to bump the shot even more)

First, TR6's are 2 ranges colder than stock really. Second, why pay $2 a plug when at Advance or Autozone you get them for under $1.50???

if your autozone doesn't sell NGK, go elsewhere...seems all too easy a decision for me.
