This A/F gauge will shut off nitrous automaticly if you run lean, just like a venom nitrous kit. I just wanted to know what you guys think of it and if you think it will work as good as the website claims.
It seems to me that it is just a fancy fuel pressure safety switch that comes standard on every NOS Dry kit 5175. It seems that it would be a little more customizable, but the standard fpss is good enough.
Either way, it would have to cut at a certain PSI, whether you could set that PSI or it was preset, like the NOS kit.
If you had a kit that didn't have an fpss, then I would just buy one of those, I think you can get the fpss for under $40, compared to $160 for the one shown.
So what do I think- a little too fancy and pricey for something that can do the same job for 1/4 the price.
Although the fpss is an inexpensive safety mechanism, it only monitors fuel pressure. You can easily run lean with adequate fuel pressure if the Nitrous shot is big enough, or the bottle pressure is a little high. If I was a hard-core Nitrous user running big shots, I would have this device. Beats buying another engine. Before you buy, you may want to do a search in this forum on air/fuel gauge. Some people have had issues with hooking devices to the o2 sensors.
Thanks for the link!

Yeah, I just think that the a/f gauges are inaccurate. I wouldn't want my nitrous to be cut off because of an inaccurate guage.
True, you can run lean and still spray w/ an fpss, but hopefully NOS, NX, TNT, etc. has got it right on the "pre-tuned" kits. Most people have seen alot of good things with those kits. I just think that if you are gonna check a/f accurately, you need autotap. I just wouldn't trust the accuracy of this product.
Of coure, maybe I am wrong and its great, who knows. I am just saying what I "think" since that is what was asked. Basically, you won't be seeing it on my car anytime soon.
with a wet kit, and a fpss or a fuel pressure gauge, this should not be needed.
With a dry kit, i would definately have someting like this.
But then again, i would never run dry.
Ryan.
