3.4liter spark plug is the recommended NGK plug to cold?
I ordered the NX Wet kit 20920 for my 94 3.4l firebird and i looked over your guys recommendations of plugs bein the NGK TR6's doe these work for the 3.4liters i looked em up at work and it said use UJ5 or ne of the ngk 5s now i think this plug maybe to cold can i still use the TR6 or might there be a better plug...

I ordered tr6's a year ago and had a nightmare trying to get them to work, then took them to a shop, and there not right, the threading is almost twice as long as stock plugs.
3.4's take a UR5 normally, so i went with a UR6.
3.8's and LT1's take the TR series i believe.

actually andrew you may be right I know the 3.8s run TRs and I know the 3.4 stock is the UR, but I remember a post a while back about trying to install TR6s in a 3.4 and they had to order a different part, which may have been yours!
i remember readin a post about summit recommending a ngk ur6 becuz its a shorter plug..........but can i use my Rapid Fire Plugs with my nitrous or is it best just to switch for the NGKs

sorry to bring back a thread from the coffin, but has there been any insight into this?
when installing my tr6's not too long ago into my 3.4, the new plugs seemed to take forever to tighten down into the head, so long in fact that i thought they were just spinning in place.
are we sure that tr6's are meant for the 3.4?
or is it in fact the ur 6?
either way my car is running fine right now with the tr6's in.
rather than start a whole new thread i figured i'd revive this one since there were some good posts in this thread previous to mine.

I would call NGK tech support and ask them what plug to use. I've talked with them before and they are very helpful. Just tell them the vehicle and tell them you need a plug 2 heat ranges colder than stock.

TRs look almost twice as long as URs (from the picture.)
i'm pretty sure when i replaced mine i just used ngk v-power UR5.
ngk does make a UR6 too.
though who knows, maybe the UR's sit way back in the head.
please tell me if i'm way off here, but if the plug electrode sits in real close to the head is that better than sitting far away? does it even matter?
