How strong are our Rods?? I have the pistons and rods out of my old 3.8, the one that I am building up, and I am comparing them to my roomates Mustang GT piston and rod and our Piston is slightly smaller but our rods are like twice as thick.. Gt's can take as much as a 125 wet shot on stock internals.. I am getting some Ross forged pistons but am having a hell of a time finding Forged rods.. Now if I just have my stock rods Magnafluxed and shot peened, which is just clean up and sprayed with some heat stuff, will this be strong enough?? I want to spray a 100 wet shot on the street and a 150 shot at the track.. would the rods hold up?? I dont want to have a new forged crank with forged pistons and some weak rods that will either break or spin on the crank.. Any one hear anything from Maneley Rods on ammperformance?? They say they need a doner set but I sent emails and they never reply??

Well you could im him is aol im is ammperformance. Yes sht peened and magnafluxed rods would be stong enghough. The GTP that runs 10.9 on a turbo setup has stock rods shot peened and stock crank.
