My bottle blew today!

The safety blow down disk blew at my filling place today. The guy froze the EMPTY bottle for 20 minutes and then filled it with about 3 lbs of nitrous and then it blew. How can this happen with only 3 lbs in the bottle? The guy at the shop said the bottle might be put together wrong. I ordered new disks from summit, so I have to wait some more in order to fix my other nitrous problems.

That happened to me too but my disk blew while I was driving with my girlfriend....

I am lookng to relace the disk too, I think it is a 3000 psi disk?! What was the part number you used to order from Summit? I have an NX kit if it matters....

For my nos generation 2 bottle the part number was nos-16165 and it was $10.00 for three of them. I think the disks might be different for NX bottles. Ask the summit guy for disks for NX.

He probably didnt freeze it long enough.. One time I was having my bottle refilled and It had 2lbs in it still so we took it out of the car and put it in the freezer and forgot to open the bottle.. Well the bottle opened itself.. A dramatic change in Temp caused it to open..
