    Hi there,

I use NOS Octain at every refill but I am also nitrous injected and need the octain for technical reasons...

I have searched the web about the benefits and pitfalls (found some lies) about octain boosters and there (as usual) is way too much information available and I finally gave up researching and ended up just want to ensure my engine handles my particular setup...

Sorry it's not really an answer but the brand and company puts out proven products...

They say that running race gas (108 or 110 octane) will greatly increase the effects of nitrous.

Do not add anything like octane boosters.

I spoke with TNT techs and octane boosters eventually cause the internal plunger in the noid to swell and it gets partially stuck open or closed.

This happened to me on the day of the high performance pontiac shoot.

                      Just gasoline

I used to run NOS silver bottle w/ nitromethane

12sec, that's what *I* use at every fill... I thought we needed premium gas AND octain boost when we run nitrous...

From what I hear, only nitromethane will hurt the solenoids. Not all additives. Thats why the make special solenoids for alternative fuels like alcohol. And thats only if you have a wet kit too. It makes the rubber swell or something like that.

I think what 12sec v6 is saying is if you need higher octane than whats at the pump 91-92 or so, than use race gas (unleaded) from the track, instead of using an additive.

Yup, race gas, unleaded, instead of octane boosters.

I experienced plunger swelling on my noids.

I run 93/94 usually but have been known to run GT100 a couple times

Do you guys have a seperate tank for the high octain gas? I have seen the small plastic resivoirs (sp?) for racing but don't really know how to hook one up and it's actually kinda scary because I smoke! What about the price per gallon, spendy?

                              Thanks!
