I'm thinking about adding a NX 75-shot to my '98 bird, i know that you can "grenade" your engine with the bottle, but what exactly IS that? can it be fixed (other than with a new engine)? Should I go to ported heads, nitrous cam, new TB... etc before I get on the bottle?
What are the chances of having a problem? has anyone here ever had a problem? I want to hear the negative side to it, i know several sprayers and they haven't had problems...
The quickest way to get a big hp increase is with the nitrous right off the bat. The heads and all that will set you back, in time and money. You'll probably still want to do that stuff later. But you don't have to wait on it right now, before you even get started.
The worst thing that's happened to mine, so far, is the maf screen froze over, and got sucked down into the tb. Luckily it wrapped around the maf sensor and didn't go any further down the intake. If the NX is a wet kit, then you will be spraying downstream of the maf screen anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Make sure all the safety stuff is in place. FPSS for sure. Preferably something to monitor o2 readings to make sure you don't go lean.
I pulled off the maf screen so that shouldn't be a problem, and i damn sure ain't gonna be sprayin 150 shots but your doing so gives me a lil confidence especially since it is without anything seriously going wrong.

If the kit doesn't come with one, you can have mine. I use/monitor a gauge instead of the fpss. I like to know exactly what is going on under the hood.

ya, if someone could verify if the kit comes with one or not, i'll just grab yours. i could make a drive or something to salina. i also plan to get a window switch, since their only like $80, so those 2 safety measures should help prvent too much from going wrong. i hope to buy the nos 5175 kit by the end of this month.

If you decide to drive out here, I can show you some installation tips/tricks.

The kit is supposed to come with an FPSS. Some people from a year or two ago said there's didn't, but I haven't heard of it being missing lately. Mine was included.
malace10985, tried to email but it must be broke. im lookin to take you up on your offer to show me a couple a things about the nitrous. it would probably be me and a couple a
