Yeah...like it says i have a newbie question on nitrous, do you all use a button or have to nitrous engauge at a cetian rpm, my friends rice has it engauge at 6k rpms and whenever he is above 6k he is spraying. Now do you all have that or do you press a button, can i get a rpm engauge for my car. When you use the button how many times and in what gears do you inject pre-race, and do you press and hold or just give it a tap?

I have a very unique nitrous setup... i do everyting manually.
It is unsafe to start spraying below 3k rpm. It creates too much dynamic cylinder pressure.
when I am at the drag strip, I lauch under normal engine power, as soon as all wheel spin has stopped and I am above 3k rpm, I press the manual trigger button on my shifter knob. I hold it down untill I reach 5800rpm, then I let off, shift, and press the button again. I also have a separate arming switch to arm the entire system. This way, I can practice shifting without spraying.
If you pre inject nitrous into your engine... YOU ARE ****ED!!!
Your motor will be instantly wasted. Never spray unless you are at full throttle, and have the nitrous shot equalized with fuel.1999 red camaro v6 M5: with a turbo
13.52@107.99
No, seriously: Who Farted?
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/600086

I think you're getting WOT (Wide open throttle) switch, and RPM window switch mixed up.
WOT switch engaged nitrous when you're at WOT.
RPM window switch disables nitrous unless you're in the RPM 'window' that you set. like between 3k and 5500 RPMS
Say you have a WOT swich and RPM window switch. You may mash the gas, but your nitrous won't engage until you pass 3k RPM(or whatever RPM you have it set at. And say you miss your 2nd-3rd switch and bang the rev limiter at 6k. The window switch will cut the nitrous at 5500RPM (or whatver RPM you set the upper limit to) and you won't blow your motor.2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun! I have sprayed as low a 2700rpm. IT doesn't hurt it, but my kit instructions say not to spray below 3000rpm.
If I got a throttle or window switch, I would probably shave .2 off my ET, due to my sloppyness.
I like to press buttons and montitor gauges though, its my pilot instinct.
I don't have a FPSS, I just have a fuel press gauge. I watch it on the track along with my mixture gauge to ensure I won't grenade my engine. Its old fashioned, I know, but I think it is more fun that way.1999 red camaro v6 M5: with a turbo
13.52@107.99
No, seriously: Who Farted?
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/600086
