What are the rules of the road with nitrous, i used to think that it is okay to have it installed but you couldnt have it in the car. But some kids told me that it is legal as long as the bottle is not open. So what are the rules of the road with nitrous? And how big is the ticket if i violate the rules?

pretty sure it varies from state to state. i know in PA, you have to have a liscence to have it (available from any speed shop), and the nitrous can be in the car and full, but not hooked up. the tank has to be disconnected.
not sure about CA, cause they are nazi's about cars out there. -

Try calling your department of motor vehicles and see what they say. or ask 2 speed shops and see if stories match up. and if they do, get a liscence from the 2nd shop.Comment

Yeah so i live in irvine, CA and i went and talked to some cops, and they said that even if i just have the system in my car, with no bottle and they see it they can give me a very exspensive ticket, WTF, how am i suposed to get to the track with nitrous? yea, im sure you can have it with a liscence.
check your states dept. of transportation page, and look around for laws, or just do a search on nitrous oxide in the page.Comment
