Can anybody tell me why my car spits and sputters like crazy on the juice. I tried going down on the fuel side and it allmost seemed like it was worse. Either way if anybody has any suggestions please inform me. I've had quite a few backfires as well not big ones but they've been enough to notice.

Dry kit?
Where is your jet located?
What direction is it pointed in?
Best results will be in the far corner of the lid.
_______________________________
What plugs are you running?
The stock ones may handle an 85 shot if you gap them down to 45. But you really should run the NGK TR6 plugs gapped at 35.

What do you mean "I tried going down on the fuel side"?

I went down on the fuel side meaning the jet which also means that i have a wet kit nos brand. It's a 3.4 and the nozzle is placed in the throttle body.
I am running the tr6's gapped at .35 and they look good.Xnenon headlight conversion
k&n cold air induction
85 shot of nitrous (NOS)
255 lph walbro fuel pump
80 series flowmaster
z rated 255/50\'s
misc. auto meter tach and a-pillar

check your K&N CAI. maybe clogged somewhat, hindering airflow? if you arent gettin enough air to the engine, or its real turbulant air, you could be puddling the nitrous in the intake, and only getting some in, hense the frequent backfires and the spuddering of the car.
could also be a faulty FPSS, like someone said, cutting off the nitrous flow and turning it back on.
or it could be a working FPSS, and your fuel pressure is actually messed up. get a FP gauge and do a check on the schrader valve on the fuel rail...

I don't know why my post earlier didn't work.....hmmm..... Anyway, sounds like you're dropping pressure in the fuel rail when your hitting the button. Liquids take the path of least resistance, like an open solenoid. You might want to look into an aftermarket fuel pump, sounds like your stocker may not be upto the task.
And FYI, nitrous doesn't "puddle". It is gaseous. Fuel puddles from the engine stumbling, and that is when a backfire occurs. Nitrous just makes the back fire much much bigger.www.fullthrottlev6.com
www.chitownracing.com

by puddling, since its a wet kit, i meant the fuel and nitrous at once.
but like i said before, your FPSS might be telling you something, and like bird_of_prey said, your fuel pump may not be able to handle the extra load on it.

When is it doing this? Beginning of the run or entire stretch? If it's the beginning, are you purging the line? You could have gas bubbles built up in there. If you think it's fuel, check all lines for leaks and make sure you don't smell fuel. I would increase the fuel jet also just to be safe. Well first off I don't have a fpss and nitrous doesn't puddle fuel does if it seperates and a hanging valve is what causes the puddling to blow. Second I have a walbro intank 255lph pump and fuel pressure guage with good pressure on and off the nitrous. Third thing is it hits hard at first then dies away then sputters over a period of about 5 seconds, I know I'm not purging the line cause I have a purge kit. I appreciate the ideas keep em' coming.Xnenon headlight conversion
k&n cold air induction
85 shot of nitrous (NOS)
255 lph walbro fuel pump
80 series flowmaster
z rated 255/50\'s
misc. auto meter tach and a-pillar

Wet kits are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS without proper precautionary measures. You need a purge, plain and simple. You want the fuel and nitrous to hit at the same time.
I'm guessing that you don't have a bottle warmer. You need perfect bottle pressure the whole way down. NOS rates their kits with optimal bottle pressure in mind. Your fuel supply ideally will remain constant, but if your pressure starts dropping rapidly, you will overfuel and backfire also.
Nitrous backfires are a great way to smoke your motor. There is alot of force being generate in a confined place. You have a good chance of bending a valve or a pushrod, seperating the intakes, or just blowing them completely off the engine.
Anyway, my advice is to cease and desist spraying until you get a bottle warmer, purge, and nitrous pressure gauge.www.fullthrottlev6.com
www.chitownracing.com

I have a bottle warmer I have a pressure guage and I know that a backfire can damage the engine, my bottle pressure is around 1100-1200 every time and I get the same result.
Yeah that's what I meant however you want to look at it I'm not running air throught the solenoid causing studdering.Xnenon headlight conversion
k&n cold air induction
85 shot of nitrous (NOS)
255 lph walbro fuel pump
80 series flowmaster
z rated 255/50\'s
misc. auto meter tach and a-pillar

Being a 3.4, how does the car run without the NOS? Have you done a pass on motor only?
You also say that the plugs look fine, is that all 6 of them or just the ones you pulled? (i only ask cause I know getting all of them is a pain)
Try to give these guys as much detail as you can. RPM range, how far out on the track you are, anything that will help them help you FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com Administrator
