  • Bottle Placement

I did some searching and seen that many of you guys put the nitrous bottle in the back where the spare tire and jack are. I also seen pics of bottles where the passanger side back seat usually is. I haven't seen any pics of people placing their bottles on the hump between the back seats. Any pics of that by any chance?

Also putting the tank where the jack and spare are seems pretty dangerous to me. Wouldn't the tank blow up if you were to get hit in the rear right there? There is like no protection there for the bottle.

PLMK what your thoughts are on bottle placement. I would rather not have to take my bottle out all the time, but would also like to keep the bottle somewhat hidden and not right out in the open in the back seat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

i was gonna mount mine between the two backseats but figured that would be to out in the open dont necessarily want cops/people to know its there, i made a mount and put it behind my backseats, where the window area is, it dont really stick out to much at all and its easy access(my back window is tinted)...u could also get a bottle cover if u want it in the back like i got and just put it over it

Yea I would mount it in the bottom of the well, but I got ttops, so need a better spot, but I think the fender where the spare is might be to dangerous in case of an accident.

              nitrous is not flamible

I would worry more about my gas tank.

There are soooooooooo many people with f bodys that put their nitrous bottle there and I have never heard of an incident

Yea but what if you were hit there, and punctured the bottle, its under high pressure and seems like that could be trouble. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't wanna put it there if it is gonna kill me.

fact buddy nitrous is flamable, however it is not explosive....the tank can explode from impact do to the fact that it holds high pressure ...gas when compressed in a container is explosive

Nitrous is not Flameable. You can actually spray it and it will put out a match. However it is very explosive only because it is a pressurized bottle.

                          Nitrous is not flammable.

                          It is an oxidizer.

But, it is under a lot of psi so the tank could rupture causing an explosion that some might think nitrous was flammable.

97rs, what i am going to do is mount my bottle between the seats on the hump so i can reach it easily. then im going to cut a slit down the bottom of a duffel bag and screw the mounts for the bottle through the bag itself. mount the bottle, zip the bag up around it (leaving a hole for the lines to get out of course), and voila! instant bottle camo....!

nitrous is not flamable. it is an oxidizer, which means it add oxygen to things. for example, spray a camp fire w/ some of it, and the fire will use the nitrous to burn a bit quicker and hotter. same could happen in a car crash. if there is a fire, or some fuel is ignited back there, and the nitrous tank is punctured, the nitrous can help feed the fire mroe oxygen, making it burn faster and more uncontrolably. This is a bad thing, but nitrous alone won't hurt anything.
