  • just got NOS

got my NOS today just a few questions.
I race in bracket racing and was thinking about using my NOS in these races.
do you think my car can still be consistant with the NOS if I get an RPM window switch so that it does not affect traction.
also are there any changes that might happen in my time if the bottle temp has changed or ammount left in the bottle. does bottle pressure affect anything. what changes bottle press. if so.

Bottle pressure will affect it. More pressure means bigger shot with the same jet. (or smaller shot when the pressure is lower)

As the bottle gets cooler, the pressure drops. (for instance, after spraying). A bottle heater will help recover the pressure faster.

When the bottle gets down to the last 2 lbs, it's very unpredictable.

a nitrous car is VERY consistent in bracket racing but you have to be consistent with everything you do, bottle pressures have to be the same every pass, etc., i personally think it would be dumb though because you dont have to qualify or run a certain number...you could use it on the big end of the track though as a "boost" in case the car slowed down or you cuz a bad light and the car slowed down, just so you can take the stripe first...a lot of guys in IHRA Quick Rod use it just for that...

Well, I've TRIED to race brackets w/ nitrous and it is VERY difficult.

        Bottle psi
        Bottle amount
        Purge
        Traction
        And others vary

Window switch would make it a bit easier

You would need a bottle warmer, psi guage etc

Maybe a 50 shot for consistency and long lasting

maybe I will just install it and use it only if I get a bad take off or spin or something that way I can catch back up.
I will prob. run it on tues nights when they don't race for points thats when all the import guys come out and I would like to go faster than them just for fun(which I already go faster than most the imports anyway)
