  • I'm coming to join you guys

Okay, I decided against the LT1 swap. I would need more parts for that than I would for the L36 swap, and I really just want a good daily driver I can have a little fun with since I have my laser to really tear into. That said, I'm going to sell my LT1 and go get my L36 out of storage. Since I will have the engine out, I would like to know what I should do in particular to get ready for juice.

Right now here is my list:
Port and polish heads and get valve jobs
    stiffer valve springs
comp cam stage 1 extreme energy cam
    port intake
headers and full exhaust, !cat and o2 sims
    tranny rebuild, LSD(and 3.08 gears)
higher ratio roller rockers (i think 1.6:1)
    air intake (i'll make it)
    higher flow fuel pump

My L36 has only 53k miles on it.

Seeing that list, what MSD stuff would you guys recommend and which nitrous setup would be the best setup for around $600? I would like to go wet, but price is a factor.

My goal is to hit into the 12s with nitrous, so what recommendations would you guys have?

I need to start a shopping list.

well, I usually see many NX wet kits for sale around 500 bucks at like ls1.com or camaroz28.com. I also sometimes see them for sale on this site as well. I have the NX wet kit and love it, it's a great kit.

Good to hear you are joining us on the giggle juice!

can u just go out to your local auto store or whatever and buy a nitrous kit? Id rather do that than order online. Ive never seen one at Autozone or oreilly's or anything

Well, $600 will get you a kit, but no extra bits like bottle warmer, bottle purge, bottle blanket, etc.

          Save a bit more money

Money won't be a question when i do it. I just want to budget stuff out so I don't go overboard with it.

Right now I'm finishing my Corvette's paint up(so I can sell it) and selling my spare LT1. That should be more than enough to fund this little project (when I get the engine in, I'm doing the 1 piece driveshaft and rear disc brakes swap, as well as new glass for the front and sides, tint, and I'm going to paint it prolly a copper color.)

It's an involved project, but I just wanted to start getting a list together so I can order it all in after I finish my Laser engine.

12sec, I have to ask, what have you done to your car? You are right about my goal times (NA and nitrous).

I want to be able to hang with my cousin's 350Z NA and murder him with nitrous.

12sec, has a empty car, with an engine a seat, and 2 huge bottles of nitrous:eek:, everything you can remove he has in his car. He will have to fill you in on the other mods though.
