new to the forum...have a question about NOS...

This is my first post,but I have a 98 Camaro Convertible which I love,lol,its pretty much stock except for a flowmaster,jet chip(stage 2),and a K&N air filter,I'm getting a catback exhaust and a ram air kit from SLP eventually but I was wondering,would it be alright to put a 50 shot of NOS on a pretty much stock camaro V6 engine?

It would handle it okay if it is not a high milage engine that has been driven into the ground. This would be better off in the Nitrous Forum.

You will have better luck with this in the nitrous forum where this will get moved to. Get your intake and exhaust done first. I dont know about the jet chip but if it advances timing, get rid of it. Yes a 50 shot will be fine, do a search in the n2o forum and read up on it.

Yeah the jet chip dosen't mix well with nitrous.

2)Intake(Ramiar or Cold Air Intake)
3)Exhuast(Catback)
4)NOS 5175 dry kit and a 50 shot jet.

NOS is the brand, nitrous is the chemical....

dude you can run a 50 shot of NOS on a factory V6 without even changing your plugs or anything (actually you might wanna put the gap just a little closer) ...they do recommend a cat back exhaust system...the first thing i did to my car was the ram air and exhaust (which is now completely hollow) and you could really tell the difference...once you get those...change your plugs to standard at .035 gap and you should be able to run a 75 shot..almost 100 without any trouble...mine will handle a 75 fine but once i start getting up to 100 i burn electrodes off...so i went a step colder on the plugs...v6 camaros run 606...so a step colder plug would be 605...enjoy!!

1dangerousV6,what brand of catback would you reccomend?I've heard good things about the SLP Catback system but I havent heard anything else about any other brands

the loud mouth is great along with flowmaster. Don't get autolite plugs like dangerous is recommending, get ngk's. If you are gunna spray more than 75 get a walbro.

yea NGK TR6 spark plugs are the plugs to get.

I have a magnaflow catback and love it, problem with exhausts is that everyone says they like theirs so really it's up to you.

97rs4life,I saw where you have a 160* thermostat,I was wondering if you could tell any differance when you put that on and if its worth the $15 or if its useless?

i think the consensus is that they're useless unless you get a manual fan switch.

Alright,I'm eventually going to get a manual fan switch so I guess Ill wait on the thermo till then
