13.8 at 103 ON THE DYNO????

I have never heard of someone running a "simulated" 1/4 mile run on the dyno.

I wouldn't put much merit in that.

Like I said, I don't put any merit in it. It's a cool program we have built into the dyno at the school and its suppose to be fairly accurate but it doesn't take a couple factors into consideration such as wind drag and such. The program starts as soon as the tires start to spin so it doesn't record a reaction time. You have to enter in tire size, vehicle weight, and other characteristics I don't remember off the top of my head. It then calculates distance traveled and once the '1/4' run is done, it displays time and speed. The speed was accurate with my speedo but that doesn't mean anything. It's like a really expensive G-tech. :D

Ok, but I'm not sure if I will be doing anything else to it this year besides getting it running. The motor creates a slight vibration that I think is being caused by the motor being out of balance (even though its suppose to be balanced). It just has that feel. But who knows, I do have a couple months left before the tracks close. I did run a 13.8 @ 103 on the dyno at school. I started spraying after i shifted into second gear. But I don't trust that number since its on a dyno and not the track.
the motor is probably gonna vibrate all the time like its out of balance....all v6's have really bad harmonics and i dont think you could ever get the vibrations out of it....

Jerriko, if you can get pic's of this thing I'd like to see it, it sounds quite interesting!

Do you mean the dyno? If so, I should be able to get some pics next week. Hopefully, I will have my car put back together by then. Those ARP studs are taking their time getting here.

so were you at a track or "elsewhere" when you did those runs? If you were at a track what times did you get with that shot?

When I did the runs with the 150 shot, I was at my dad's house. He lives in the country and is surrounded by those great straight blacktop roads. Funny thing is that my dad is STRICTLY a BB V8 guy and I think it killed him to say that he was impressed with the way it pulled, for a little engine. It was definitely (and obviously) faster than the 100 shot. And with my dad in the car, that is an accomplishment. He weighs just under 300 lbs.
If I had to compare the difference in feel between the 100 shot and 150 shot, I would say it felt just like the difference between the 3.27 gears and the 3.73 gears.

I know the difference between a 75 and 100 shot wet.

                      I haven;t had success with a 125 shot.

I couldn't imagine the HP and TQ difference from 100 to 150!!!!

This sucks! Why do I have to wait 14 days for a set of head gaskets?

Huh? I knew it would not handle the 150 shot. I wanted to see what would break. I didn't just throw a bunch of sh*t together and hope that it would work. I don't know what in the world you learn from your pile. You throw too many non-constants into the equation to be able to tell what is working and what's not.
