• No dry kit w/ SC says NOS..any thoughts?

these are emails between me and NOS tech...i've got different opinions from people here and NOS tech themselves...does this sound about right??

Yes that is the reason and then the nitrous on a dry kit bumps the
pressure up even higher and then you could in fact lock up the
injectors.

Thank you. Is this because the FPR with the dry nos kit does not work
correctly with the FMU from the supercharger? That is what I have read.
Thanks again!

Ok if you are going to run this with a charger will will need to
convert
to a wet kit and use kit number 0031NOS and then you could run a 30nos
and
a 14 fuel.

Hi,

Could you please let me know what jet size to use for a 30 shot on dry
kit# 5175? I ask because the car now has a blower on it too, so I want
to
drop the shot a bit. Thanks!

I dunno man, I know what I would do.

So far, your contacts with NOS tech have been against all of what I would do with your set up

im going to be running such a small shot..probably a 20 - 25 ...not even a 30 ..just for the aftercooling effect...not even as a power adder...so i'll just move the nozzle...and pull the FPR right out...its such a small shot i would think my MAF would sense the cooler air and be able to just compensate with the car's own fuel system...no FPR needed...the FMU and MAF should take care of it...thats what im thinking now anyway...and its not even just you James...they're against what EVERYBODY says...thats why i either just do a search or ask my nitrous questions here instead of there

I am definitley no nitrous expert at all, I would take Jame's words very heavily, even over NOS guys.

....but, in my opinion, I think wet kit is the way to go. I think you are putting to much pressure on the fuel system and it just cannot handle it.

If you are going to stay dry maybe upgrade the injectors and such.

they actually gave me a part# ... 0031NOS ..i think its some type of conversion to wet kit..i cant seem to find much info on it so the guy is emailing me the install instructions...i've gotta talk to the guys that are working on the block too to see which way to go...and yeah...it seems like so far the guys from NOS havent given me much luck lol

I skimmed it and didn't see the part number you were looking for but here is a big link of almost all their install instructions.

thanks MustangEater..yeah i ended up emailing them because i couldnt find the part number either...so they sent my the install instruction manual pdf..its just a real basic conversion kit from universal dry to universal wet...cost about $150 ...i'd be running such a small shot that i dont even know if im even gonna bother yet..i really have to talk to them a bit more to see about what they're doing with my block and stuff...and what would be the best way to go for my custom app...its good to have the info together though if that turns out being the way to go

hey James ...what do you think?..i know if i stick to the dry then im moving the nozzle...but say i run a 20 - 25 shot ...since its such a small shot...does it really matter whether its wet or dry?

so i took a look at the pdf they sent me...it sSO basic...just a couple hoses...fuel solenoid...filter...new nozzle...i could put everything in myself...the only thing i would need a shop to do is drill and tap the hole for the new nozzle...IF this is the way to go...my engine work actually starts next week...so hopefully i'll get a chance to take it to the track again before they close...i wont have my gears in yet...but i'd like to see how it does with a new/tuned engine

Converting to wet is pretty easy. Only thing that is remotely technical is tapping the for the nozzle, and removing the nipple from the schrader vavle(I heard you need a special tool, but not sure I haven't looked to far into it)

Have you thoght about running no FMU, and just bigger injectors? Then you could safely run a dry shot right?

i was thinking about that actually...im going to stick the nozzle where the supercharger discharge tube attaches to the intake (in the rubber hosing)..so like James said..the MAF will read it...i think with my new block im only going to run about a 50 shot ...so the injectors shouldnt be getting maxed out...it should be fine...but if im still running lean or misfiring after that...then yeah i was thinking about getting bigger injectors

PS: i forgot...i also have the DIS-4 now to retard the timing on the top end...so that should help too...some guys told me that they run 125 shots on stock timing/plugs...i think James (correct me if im wrong) gaps the plugs but runs stock timing too...i just cant seem to do that with the supercharger/nitrous combo...even though i didnt think i was putting out more than an additional 125 hp at the rear wheels based on my weight & ET...but i dont know...maybe i was...without any timing retard...and that detonation was severely hurting my times...it'll be nice to see how it runs with the new block and the DIS-4...the block isnt really being made to add power...just strength...but im hoping to see a lot of improvement
