• How serious is this?

I was just looking on the NOS site and found this warning:

"System Requirements
The stock fuel pump should be adequate, but it should be capable of meeting NEW pump specs. If unsure, replace. Use only premium grade pump gasoline (92+ octane) or unleaded racing fuel. In many instances, a high-output ignition system and a free-flowing exhaust system may benefit performance. WARNING: DO NOT use aftermarket chips or other devices that advance ignition timing, as detonation may occur. "

I have Fastchip programming that advances the timing I believe... would I have to get my computer re-programmed or could I adjust my DIS-4 to retard the timing?

you dont want the timing advanced for nitrous, thats a big no-no. i believe the DIS-4 only has a high-rpm timing retard, so i dont know if that would be adequate ehough.

BAAAAAAAD IDEA, the DIS4 ignition will not do enough to retard the timing as much as it was most likely advanced by fastchips.

call them and find out how much they advanced the timing...

General disclaimer... they gotta provide that.

Using nitrous... NEVER advance timing... with ANYTHING!

So I'd basically have to get my PCM back to stock?
Or would there be a "nitrous" tune... because if I send my computer back to those guys they will re-program it for free.

I am only going to do a 50 shot.. I just crossed 76k miles on the little 3.4

e tune doesnt effect the timing your ok, if its just a tune to ad. the speed limiter and shift oints your ok, i.e. if you have a hypertech its ok to use every thing but the preset hp mod thing, lean is bad!!!

my car is definately not lean..

I upped the fuel pressure 5 lbs cold, and my plugs look like I'm runnin rich.. but I'm still getting 15mpg in So Cal traffic with my lead foot, so I'm happy.

I'm going to contact fastchip and see what they did to my computer... then I'm gonna write down where my car shifts at WOT and see if the RPMs are high enough to where I can just adjust the timing with the MSD. With the 3.73s, I bet my RPMs stay about 3000 on the shifts..

Just make sure the timing is not advanced at all.

Does anyone know if my car has a MAP censor or if I can just get the timing with a timing light?

If I can get the timing with a light, and get the stock timing, then hopefully I can retard the timing enough with my MSD to compensate for the computer programming (if it changed the timing).

Then I just need to make sure my alternator can handle the extra current draw and find a decently priced kit :D

There was a big write up about nitrous in this months' hot rod too... I think its a sign hehe

yes you have a MAP sensor (its on the back of the plenum on the passengers side)

So, your puter is advancing it while the MSD is retarding it?
