• Stay dry?...or get wet?

i was planning on installing my 3.42s and DIS-4 over the winter...since im all nitrous now...i was also planning on converting to a wet setup with NOS's wet conversion kit ...but i wanted to get more thoughts/opinions on that...stay dry or get wet?...i was able to barely get into the 13s with a 100 dry shot...i want to easily/safely/consistently be able to run mid - low 13s

thats what i was thinking...i want to run juice safer...the dry kit gives each cylinder an increase in fuel...but the nitrous can spray unevenly...leaving some cylinders with the correct ratio...and some without...with a wet kit...even if you get uneven distribution...the cylinders get a good nitrous/fuel ration...so that was why i wanted to go wet...less fouled plugs and what not...plus the increase in power over a dry kit...but i want to be sure its a good move

and dude...you're mom worked on your race car...lol...thats awesome...go mom!

Definately Wet, you'll notice a harder hitting, torquier spray with a wet shot. Wet is generally safer too, you don't have to worry about the system going lean. Oh, and a word of advice, use ONE relay for both noids. Using two is pretty unsafe, what happens if the fuel relay fries and the Nitrous relay remains open? Yup, BOOM.

yea definitely go wet man, better power and the fuel is there. Plus you have the built motor and fuel pump so you will send it plenty of fuel for that 100 shot. 13s won't be a problem at all

wow, being color blind must be kinda weird when at the tree on the strip but then again i bet ur used to the diffrent colors.

i was considering buying a dry kit and later on doing the wet conversion once i got a little more into racing. but i heard the wet system can cause a "Blow back"?? i think thats what its called, and cause the engine to blow up?

i was actually kind of considering eventually upgrading to NOS's NOSzle system...direct port without all the drilling and tapping...knowing myself thats probably what im going to end up with...but i'll start out with the basic universal wet

CorbinWelter...97rs4life can probably explain this better than me...but what you can get is a nitrous backfire...its when nitrous and fuel puddle up in the intake and ignite at once...from what i hear it can cause damage to intakes and head gaskets...stuff like that...i dont know that it can cause real internal damage...but im not sure...i've had 2 backfires on the dry system...its from not paying attention and having the nitrous armed when i hit the gas...the fuel psi and rpms arent high enough yet and i got the backfires...which are really nothing on a dry system...although...if you are using the nitrous system correctly and your car is properly tuned you shouldnt get any backfires at all...guys at the track get them because for their times..they want to inject that juice asap...this is where a window switch comes in handy...it allows nitrous to only be injected once a certain programmed rpm has been reached

thanks for all the feedback guys!

1Dangerousv6 is right, a wet kit has nitrous backfires when it puddles in the intakes. That is why some people prefer to port and polish their intakes if they run bigger shots.

You shouldn't need a direct port or noszle system to run low 13s, especially with a built engine.

Run a 100 wet shot and get your gears/lsd and you should be there all day long!
