Has anyone had any specific problems with a DIS-4 system and running juice? ..James i know you said they suck..did it just not do anything or did it actually create problems?...i ask because i've got one in my room ready to go..but i'd like to get some feedback on the cons of this system...i dont plan on using any of the features except the timing retard...i plan on running a 75 - 100 wet shot...maybe a 125 once to see if that will give me 12s...and i'll only be runnimg juice at the track...i probably go about twice a month..thanks!

I run 75 no problem without the DIS-4, and there are others that run 100 without it. I would think anything 100 and up though you should use it.

My bird did not like the MSD DIS4 unit.
It would not even run.
Some people, a very small amount, have it and it works.
I run a 125 shot and stock (well, msd coil packs upgraded) igntiion system
If you already have it.... try it.
If you havenm';t bought one, don't bother.
It DEFINATELY has many nice features..... I was not able to get them to work.
I will be exploring other idea's when I'm at a level where I feel I need to reduce timing.Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

Bolt on a better coil.
When it comes to late model performance parts, nothing beats bolt-on and direct connection components. Especially when they improve performance like these new replacement MSD Blaster coils. did you check for 12 volt and wire it the correct way?
did you have the DIS-4 swtich set for our cars?

It did not like it, it was done ages ago w/ another car next to it which was running the msd dis 4 unit at the time.

I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...2 weeks ago -
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...2 weeks ago
