• Nitrous, turbo, or supercharger

Okay.... I don't want to stirr things up, but why do you guys chose nitrous over anything else. For example like 1dangerousv6 seems like you went through some stages. you had i believe the rk sport and the nitrous. I went through the search and many people prefer the turbo over the supercharger any given day. In force induction mentioned in the long run with nitrous you spend the same amount in turbocharging it. For me its between the turbo and the nitrous. I just want to pull my hair out already because of the search. Oshhhh..... that being said I want to hear your comments

well...a lot of people prefer to go with a turbo or supercharged setup because of the constant power...especially with rksport's kit (Powerdyne) ...its always there...no flipping switches, opening/filling bottles, etc...it can also be somwhat more reliable than nitrous but that usually depends on user error...i had a supercharger because i used to street race a lot (a lot of you know now why i dont anymore..hehe)..so constant power was good for me...it also gave me a lot of points when i used to show the car a lot...once i stopped street racing i really only needed power for the track...so i took the supercharger off...just ran juice...and delivered almost the same ETs (will be low 13s - high 12s next season ;) ) ...now i lost weight, made a good portion of my money back, only need to fill my car with premium when racing, and still run about the same ETs...i have nothing against boost at all...i really depends what it is that you specifically want out of your car

you have to fill the bottle. most states have laws about it being hooked up when your on the street, it not leagal to use in ANY state on the street. but it cheaper for the frist few years. and also something can go wrong much easier.

turbo is hiden and legal but adds a bit more wieght.... but you power is there.... not as much can go wrong that would blow your motor....
and blah blah blah all kinds of stuff lol

Nitrous/Supercharger/Turbo issue can be debated for ever. BUT, if you want the perks and drawbacks for each on the 3800 engine, here you go:

Supercharger (Powerdyne):
Perks: Fairly instant power, puts you even with an LT1 and faster with the 9lb pulley, readily available
Drawbacks: Expensive, have to rebuild it every 30K miles, belt slippage is a problem, although its being assessed and seems to have a cure. Also, for the money, its fairly ineffecient as far as a power adder goes.

Turbo (FFF Kit):
Perks: Tons of power potential, fairly inexpensive
Drawbacks: Noone has recieved a complete kit yet, there have been tons of problems with the group purchace, and noone has actual kit numbers or track times.

Nitrous:
Perks: Instant power, lots of power, cheap power, proven to work great on the 3800 engine, easy to install.
Drawbacks: You have to fill the bottle. Use it wrong and you blow up your engine.

See sig.

I can, with the opening of a bottle, go almost 11's.
I see 33+ mpg
I can go high 13's N/A

I run in a lot of competitions at the local track and I'm almost always N/A because it is MUCH more consistent.

1dangerousv6 what are you using turbo or nitrous right now. for the turbo kit no one sells them except for tiago. tiago cant sell them because of certain problems. I want the turbo but i am no expert on installing one for myself.

Spray is cheap. Plain and simple. WHen I bought my kit, I paid 200 bucks for it. I went 13's, and I was happy.

Now that I have money, I want to get into a grown-up power adder like a turbo. I am gonna spend about 3000bucks to get it all installed and running. I want power all the time.

I am gonna keep my spray installed though; just in case I ever have to go into HYPERSPACE.

street racing is BADDDDDD lol

and malice... be careful with the combo...it can be pretty tough to get right...the injectors will max out on a dry kit AND boost...since the injectors handle both...you'll run lean and BOOM! ...if your going to use both...go with a very small shot for a cooling effect...or a wet kit if you really want to have BOTH as a power adder and let the injectors handle the boost only...or deifinitely without a doubt up the injector size
