Yep, medical grade nitrous is MUCH better for your car, and will get the same results. The stuff most race shops sell has more in it, and can clog your solenoids after so long, which is why I will ALWAYS recomend running a nitrous filter!! We get the medical grade stuff here from a shop for about $3.50 all year long.

DarkEcho, I would shop around some more. If you can't find a suitable price, just get a fill station of your own. You can usually buy Nytrous+ from any welding supply company.

As far as the other debate in this thread..... Nytrous+ is 100ppm sulfur dioxide, not nearly enough to clog solenoids or cause any damage. I would advise against running medical grade nitrous. If ever you get stopped and have your stuff tested, you face some serious jail time. I'm talking about a felony for trafficking with intent to distribute for having 10lbs. Always buy from a reputable source and always keep your reciept. I would stay away from anywhere that doesn't let you see your bottle get filled. Make sure you are getting Nytrous+ and ask for it by name. If they don't know what you are talking about, leave.

Ask real racing guys and they'll tell you that the sulfer based stuff isn't as good. Fines and such differ by location, but here in Texas, everyone that can runs the good stuff...The sulfer isn't what makes power anyway, it needs to be filtered, and like any filter, it clogs!

And no offesne, but what cop is going to say "I see you have a nitrous bottle mounted there...it better be sulfer based, or you're in big trouble. I'm going to test it with my mobile lab here, and see for sure what it is. "

If you got pulled over, it was probably for racing, or being dumb, and they aren't going to test your nitrous, if there is such a field test anyway. Get the good stuff if it's available!

Is there a way to find out who fills nitrous bottles in your area? I'm about to get my kit this week and once I get it installed I gotta test it out... just a lil :-P

Just ask other racers from your area, they'll know where to go, and who has the best pricing.

Q: Where can I get my bottle filled and how much does it cost?

A: NOS has a toll free number 1-800-99-REFILL, and it gives you the location of the nearest dealer with refilling capabilities. Nitrous sells anywhere from $2 - $4 per pound. The standard 10 lb. tank will cost $20 to $40 to fill.

agreed...NEVER run medical grade nitrous...there is more added to nitrous used on cars than sulfur

i called the kragen guys back after a bout an hour search for nitrous shops, i found a few way out in the ghetto but they had it for 4.50 - cheapest i had seen, but then i got this feeling that 10 is just way too insane, so i called back and this dude pics up and im like "do you refill nitrous, if so how much" and hes like yeah wait a sec.... comes back and is like 4.50...oh wait,3.60! so obviously that first guy didnt know what he was talking about but still, this dude who gave me two answers doesnt sound very knowledgable on filling nitrous... maybe i should step outside when they fill it eh? lol...
