I posted a question a while back in a window switch thread but it never got answered and everyone moved on to different things,
I searched on it but couldnt come up with the answer I wanted so here it is...
For everyone (including myself) who is afraid of having their tranny go out sooner than it has to, what RPMs should we set it at so that it stops spraying befor the shift point? I have the starting RPM set at 3500 due to James' suggestion, and ill work my way down as i get used to it and go no lower than 3000. but what RPM do our tranny's shift at? I would go out and do it now but there is no long stretch of land that i can go on....
I know that once you shift, the gears change and then you will be lowered back into the window again, but you could just get good at it and once you feel/see/notice the nitrous go off, you can disarm the master switch.... I would rather take advantage of my window switch and further the safety even more if possible. I assume that 2nd gear would be the most effective place to spray... and make it cut off before the RPM gets high enough to go to third.
I think that there are probably a few people with this same question but either didnt know how to ask or just decided to "just spray through shifts" like everyone else does, but I want to preserve my tranny as long as possible. it would be quite an expensive thing to replace/fix
