The car I have is a 96 Camaro w/ T-tops. I to get an idea of where people have mounted their bottles. The problem I am having is that I want to mount the bottle behind one of the wheel wells, mount the battery behind the other. I would like to keep the rear compartment capable of holding the t-tops. I am curious as to what everyone else has done.
Thanks,
Jim
I ghetto mounted mine. It is jammed behind the passenger seat. It is wedged firmly between the front and rear seats.
The mounting brackets are bolted to the floor pan, but I never secure the bottle in them.
Given my neophyte financial profile, if I roll the car in a wreck, I would probably be better off if the bottle comes loose and smacks me in the head.

I have mine where the spare tire goes. Fits nicely, out of sight, and with fix-a-flat, small air pump, and a plug kit, I have not used a spare tire in 20 years. I also like your battery idea, might look into that myself.
yeah mount the bottle where the spare goes..that is also a good location because there should be a small hole on the floor of that well already where you can run a blow down through..there should be enough room in the small compartment on the other side of the ttop well for the battery
I don't think there is enough room to mount the battery box on the driver side let alone just a battery. So I guess it would come down to T-top storage versus rear mounted battery.
in that case..the spare tire well is pretty deep..it doesnt distribute the weight evenly..but you could bolt the battery down on the bottom to the floor..and then bolt the nitrous tank to the wheel well..i saw a pic of it earlier today but now i cant find it..looked pretty good..if neither side will work for you..then since you want the weight over the rear axle..id definitely say the rear deck or ttop well (but then like you said.. you obviously lose your space)..decisions decisions..

Please, find that pic. I didn't think there would be enough room for both of them on the passenger side. That would work fine for me. I would rather have more weight on the passenger side if I had to have it offset.

That's my plan! (mounting in the spare tire well with my remote bottle opener). Any idea how to keep the bottle from thrashing around back there whilst performing high speed manuevers?

Please tell me you wouldn't think of just tossing the bottle in there.
You NEED to make a mounting plate.
I wouldn't bother with remote openers... I've heard too many problems with them.... not opening fully... not closing them fully....extra wiring....etc
